Does it get sold short a bit?

I really like the Langford quote for an explanation. "Attrition" puncher, breaks you down, but for a knockout.

Looking at the ease with which he demolished Fulton, you have to think that something was going down!

He did have 15 first round stoppages and over 50 KO's overall. Wills had a potent punch. He has rightfully not gone down among the greatest heavyweight punchers (the likes of Liston, Foreman and Tyson) but he was certainly not a light hitter either.

When it comes to wearing cuffs, I think that there were events when the opponents may have thrown the fights also, so it tends to even out. Wills did probably go through the motions a few times with opponents he already knew all too well.

He might have been carrying Langford towards the end of their series, because Langford was his meal ticket!
