Im english and had Valuev winning by 2 or 3 rounds. I felt pretty smug predicting a Valuev win before the decision whilst my drunken uncle's felt the shaky leg late on won it for Haye. Maybe i just dont know my ****, but i thought it was abit of a robbery. Saying that, based on visual evidence, i believe Haye would KO Dempsey and Wills in the same night
Yeah, i mean if i was edging one way it was actually for Valuev myself. I didn't think Haye's chances were great before that fight either. But maybe Haye won it legit, i'll watch it again, it was closely contested i thought. I don't know about Haye beating Dempsey, but one thing is certain, Haye's power is genuine, no doubt about that.
It may seem like i've got some extreme bias going on. But honestly, i see the footage on Dempsey and at best he looks like a glorified bare knuckle gypsy boxer(no doubt, with immense power. I feel many modern more fundamental and slick boxers would outbox him. And any modern world class banger would would eat him up, with his crude style.
a) there isn't much available of McVea. I think I have seen all except what some rich collector may hold in his archive. I assume you are not one of said collectors. b) the only head movement i see is when his opponent lands or when he roars back for a haymaker. It's more like two bulls locking horns.. and then throwing punches... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ax3gG2CbzdA[/ame]
Valuev was way past his prime and Haye is an ATG puncher and runner or else he'd have been smashed to bits. The GOAT does not lose to Haye in his prime, as truly great as Haye is. Chagaev either, although of course Chagaev is also an ATG. Now that I think about it Valuev has faced more ATGs (including Holy and Barret) than Louis. Wait, what was I saying? Oh, yeah. Valuev is awesome! He's like Wonjongkam only friggin' huge!
I think it is too early to evaluate Haye ,lets see him against a couple more heavies ,preferably live young ones. I do think Wills may be slightly overated myself.
David Haye has no chin and no defense. And he's quite slow on his feet. He has verry good power and decent hand speed though. He might muster up the courage to fight the 37 year-old Wills who got beat by Uzcudun. And I'd give Haye a decent chance of winning against a shot washed-up Wills.
Rather you than me, can't believe I shelled out for that shitfest :tired Thought Haye edged it, certainly did the cleaner work - by work I mean throwing 3 punches a round
I tried watching it again and got to round 3, then went straight to 12. Don't put yourself through it!
Don't worry i'm totally against watching it again now, that ship's sailed. Who did you score for first time round?
