Everybody says Wills was old, he was 32 in 1924. When he fought Madden, Firpo. He was a fitness freak who took care of himself, so that gave him an edge. HW's mature later then lighter wt guys. While Wills was not prime he still had all his tools that made him #1. His speed would have been about the same. What you saw in 1924 was the same as when he was 26-27. The only thing that changes is reflexes and snap in your punches, but not that much at 32. Jack Johnson, was 32 when he beat Jeffries. 37 when he fought Willard. Johnson was also a partier so Wills, who didn't drink or party should have been good to go even at 37-38.

You Dempsey freaks palaver endlessly how he was washed up for Tunney. Prey tell, how old was Dempsey when they first met?

Please when did I say that, bet'cha cant find it lol Duh! Dempsey at 32 and Wills at 32 were two different animals, Dempsey inactive, Wills active, Dempsey partier, Wills neither drank or smoked. Wills took care of himself, Dempsey, didn't.
    So what's your point?

So, now we handicap for bad lifestyle choices?

When is it ever actually about boxing when we discuss Dempsey? It's all dancer's legs and excuses.

Dempsey is the Classic example of the guy who won the great event but rarely won the great fight.

If you say so, it's gotta be true

What makes you so bitter? Dempsey no matter what you say is an icon. Probably that's what bothers you most. Learn to deal with it, it's all good.

You once countered a response from me concerning the Jack Johnson v O Brien fight you said O Brien was past it. I pointed out that they were the same age and you said," boxers age differently". Are you now reversing your opinion?:hey
Dempsey was washed up against Tunney, his 3 years of high life and ring inactivity had robbed him of his legs, reflexes, and stamina,no-one's fault but his own ,but still a fact ,and one that you know to be true .
The kindest description I can offer for your retort is "disingenous".Naughty naughty S:nono

Jack Dempsey is Seamus' equivalent to Mendoza's Jack Johnson.
I hasten to add he is a far superior poster, but then that isn't saying much!

I see where you were going with saying 14 rd stop. You have to understand, there are many nitpickers on this forum. You should point out who said it has to be a 12rdr? You could easily say in a 20rdr.

No, many alts is not happy, to make him happy you have to say GREB,GREB, GREB, GREB and then say Dempsey, Dempsey, Dempsey.
