The amount of top quality fights this year has been nothing short of phenomenal.

    So far:
    PBF v ODH
    Hatton v Castillo
    Mosley v Collazo
    Cotto v Zab
    MAB v Marquez
    Williams v Margarito
    Hopkins v Wright
    Mormeck v Bell

    Still to come:
    PBF v Hatton
    Calzaghe v Kessler
    Mosley v Cotto
    MAB v Pac
    Taylor v Pavlik
    Haye v Mormeck

Think it could be a long time before we see another year like this one

Not the best but probably the best in the last 10-15 years or so.

A lot of people have made similar threads. Definitely a good year.

In the history of the sport? Not by a long shot. In the last 15 years or so? Probably.

the years 2001 and 2000 had some megafights and great stories:

    2000 treated us to:

    MAB BARERRA 1
    MOSLEY DE LAHOYA
    TITO V VARGAS AND REID
    VARGAS V QUARTEY
    Tapia V Ayala
LEWIS CLEARING UP THE HW SCENE
there were a few other good fights i think

    2001 gives us:
    Barrera V Hamed
    Mayweather V Corrales
    Tito V Hopkins and Joppy
    Morales Ayala
    Rahman Upset
there were a few other good fights i think

This year han't produced any classics like the epics of 2000. some good fights yes. we are probably getting more matchups than we have in any other year but i don't know if this years will be remembered as the best. there is plenty of time left

1999 give us a few good matchups but they all let us down (except a tapia fight):
    Holyfield Lewis 1 and 2
    Oscar V Tito and quartey
Tapia V someone (please correct me)
    Tito V Whitaker

I think the last truly great year for boxing was 1990:
    douglas tyson
    taylor chavez
    benn eubank
there were quite a few others
    1991 was good is well

FINGERS AND TOES CROSSED THAT THIS WILL BE THE BEST

The Only Arguable Classic Was Mab V Marquez. Dlh Pbf Was Boring In Most Rounds. Cotto Judah Was Entertaining But One Sided. Macrinelli Braithweight Was An Excellent Fight But Still A Bit One Sided. Vasquez Marquez Could Of Been A Classic
