Besides Pacquiao who was a proven cash cow PPV draw, has there ever been another B side fighter who has declined a 15 million dollar pay day in the history of the sport?
Idk but why would they sign a deal now when he's fighting Jacobs in march? He shouldn't be looking passed that
Pacquiao wasn't really the B-Side... At one point, he was more popular than Floyd. They were like 1A/1B. Once in a lifetime event.
Are you serious? Omg Its not rocket science dude. Compare the numbers. Live gate, PPV, and ratings on HBO. Actually its even easier, compare revenue.
Yes we all no Canelo makes way way more than GGG, my point was that I think GGG beats him and therefore should not be considered a B fighter
These fools call Golovkin a B side Fighter.....when and if the Fight ever happens the so called A side fighter is going to get destroyed by the so called B side fighter....and all this A side B side Bull Sh!t will be Laughable.!!!!!
If Golovkin was actually paid $15 million for fighting Canelo that would be considered a HUGE success. Very few boxers have ever gotten that big of a payday in the US. The below list is comprised of US based fighters. These are the highest paid boxers: Floyd (no commentary required) Manny (no commentary required) Oscar (no commentary required) Tyson (no commentary required) Holyfield (was paid 12 million guarantee in 1996 dollars for 1st Tyson fight) Cotto (earned 15 million vs Canelo as the A side) (Cotto had a 8 million guarantee vs Mayweather plus PPV upside) Canelo (Im sure he broke 15 million vs Floyd) Trinidad (Was guaranteed 8 million vs Oscar, plus 4 million PPV upside) Hopkins (Made 10 million vs Oscar) Roy Jones Jr (22 million vs Ruiz) Sugar Ray Leonard (11 million vs Hearns) These guys have made $15 million dollar paydays (inflation adjusted of course). The reality is that the only way Golovkin would EVER make more than 15 million (outside of Canelo) in a fight would be vs Floyd in a comeback. I dont think GGG would make dollars like this against Cotto. So IF THE FINAL OFFER IS $15 MILLION GGG WOULD BE A BRICK NOT TO TAKE IT
If your the challenger your automatically the b side fighter no matter how much money you bring canelo was the b side fighter against Liam Smith and he will be against canelo.
Doesn't that hurt your point? If he's going to win, why wouldn't he take it at a discount so he can increase his profile and make alot of money for minimal risk. I'd figured Camelot was ducking up until this point, but this is making me change my mind. 15 is too much to pass up under these circumstances.
Point is made. 15 million is hard to turn down, unless your ggg which already had a flop ppv. He's a diva.
