I left this forum 3 months ago and the exact same posters were calling GGG entitled/diva for not taking 8 mil. I come back and see that the offer was upped to 15 mil. It doesn't take a genius to see GGG Is doing something right, his offer doubled in 3 months. That's just good business. After he ices Jacobs and unifies with BJS (since Canelo is going to 165 for JC jr), he will be the A side, with 4 belts and all the glory. All roads lead to GGG

GGG can easily continued to be left out on the cold if he's going to continue acting like a diva. He's 35 years old, you realize that? He retires without a marquee win and without a mega payday he will only have himself to blame.

Fair point and I agree, Team G need to just take the damn deal.

Take the deal, win the fight impressively (as he will), knock Canelo TFO, and then you can ask for more money in the rematch. That's how its done.

Golovkin will only have himself to blame if someone else beats Canelo before he gets to him..... Boxing is way too unpredictable to let Canelo slip out of his grip because you don't want to take a by far career high payday in a fight you will be the favorite in.

Have you ever negotiated a salary? Bonuses? Grants? It's hard to know when to stop. You were saying he should have taken 8, now it's 15. After he has 4 belts, the offer may be 25 mil. I don't envy Loeffer, the Floyd/Manny example is still fresh in everyone's memory.

Floyd/Manny hurt boxing very much. Boxing is very lucky to have had Canelo enter his prime around the time Floyd/Manny fought.

GGG is taking his shot at what he feels will be his biggest payday. I can't knock him for that. I would love to see the fight but I also appreciate the gamesmanship. The money is there, not or never will be on the level of Mayweather and Pac but better than what it is now. Both sides know this and they are playing it for all it's worth. Just hope they don't over play their hands.

Ggg is not more popular than Cotto. I can't see it doing significantly more than what Cotto-Canelo did.

The A/B side premise didn't exist until Floyd tried stalling for 5 years against PAC.

Everyone knows GGG would be heavily favored against Canelo.

GGG is being offered ~50% more than he currently commands while Canelo would stand to make 500+% than he currently commands.

Anyone with an IQ over 80 and a pulse knows this is posturing by GBP. First it was a catchweight, now it's a flat fee. This isn't the last demand to come from "A side" Canelo, just watch. They will do everything the can to push his fight into 2018.

I think that it will because it will be promoted more extensively. By fight time, everyone will know who GGG is.

Considering GBP offered 15m they seem to disagree with you.

Boxing should start handing belts based on popularity.
The fighter with the most PPV buys becomes champion, and dictates who and how he fights against.
