maybe after a double knock down, they both illegally KO each other while on the ground? probably just a NC, not a DQ
Yes they typically happen when both fighters stop throwing punches at eachother and instead just dance around. Here is one example: http://www.freewebs.com/gulfcoastboxing/828coushatta.html Welsh, LA heavyweight Clifton Rubin (8-2) entered the ring to the yells and screams of his big following, but left to the sounds of heavy boos. Rubin faced Wade “Rock” Lewis (12-11) in what was supposed to be a battle of knockout artist, (Lewis has 11 and Rubin 8) turned out to be a bore. Rubin came out as the aggressor, but that quickly changed when he felt Lewis’s power. Lewis landed a straight right hand that nearly put Rubin down in round 1. In round 2 Lewis felt Rubin’s power, and elected to back off of his powerful assault. Towards the middle of round 2, both fighters elected to “feel each other out.’ In round 3 it was more of the same “feeling out” process. Both fighters were told to fight, at the end of the round referee Russell Naquin warned both corners that they needed to fight or risk being disqualified. In round 4, it was more dancing, and 2:17 into the round referee Russell Naquin stopped and bout and called it a double disqualification. The Louisiana boxing commission stated that both fighters will receive losses on their records.
I remember watching this fight in USA network back when they showed tuesday night fight. Not a double DQ but could have been [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20jk-0iWna4[/ame]
What if they both refuse to stop throwing after the bell between two rounds? Or repeatedly low blow each other or something.
Rednecks? Have you ever been to Louisiana, clown. Party capital of the world with decent prospects ,and more soul and culture than you can imagine.:deal
Woah. Calm down. What do you expect someone from outside the USA to call so meone in the south when they are shown in a bad light (in this instance with the bull**** double dq). No offence intended, its just the first thing that popped into my mind and probably would be for most people not from the USA when thinking about this topic.
i read in the end of year boxing monthly (08) that two heavyweights started fighting before the bell, and were both DQ'd
Very true, The media does not depict us well, at all. And understandable on the topic. Cheers:thumbsup
