Yep thats why Morales does 1 million PPV's every time out and Floyd fights on his undercards. Oh wait. :rofl
Well it has more to do with his mouth. Playing the villian is always a good way to get popular. If he didnt have that then he would never be as big as he is now. Because lets face it he is not the most entertaining to watch. I mean people have walked out during his fights before.
Well he never fought DLH so no I cant. Does it hurt to know that people have walked out DURING PBF's fight? I mean tickets are pretty expensive to get into those fights so to walk out during the main event you must be pretty ****ing bored.
Doesnt hurt me. Obviously they came back considering he's one of the biggest draws in boxing history.
Ha the fact you are making excuses shows this actually bothers you. Look I am not saying the guy is a chump. He is a great fighter but he is not exciting and honestly with his skill level he could make fights much better than he does.
Yeah thanks to his **** personality and Oscar's help. The majority of people tuning in to see his fights don't do so because he is an exciting fighter, they do so because they want to see him lose. Floyd is a very skilled boxer, but not exciting. Maybe enteratining for those who like to watch fighters getting outpointed but definately not exciting.
I didnt make an excuse. I simply pointed out that people must find his fights exciting given that they keep showing up and his fights generate the revenue of a small country. Saying Mayweather's "Not Exciting" just shows your bias.
I saw his fights at a theater in Fort Collins, Colorado. Around 2/3rds of the theater was Mexican. I'd say about half of the Mexicans were cheering for Mayweather. Saying people want simply buy his fights just to see him lose is hilariously wrong. If that was the case, anyone could be a dick and do 6 figures at the box office. People by a Mayweather fight same reason people will buy anything that is brilliant. Even the layman can recognize Mayweather's skill and are awed by it.
I disagree. Because of the current structure of boxing, it seems PBF is the biggest draw in boxing history. That is false. Being in PPV actually means boxing is limited to target audience - not big enough for free TV. Ever notice that major sports soccer, American football, baseball, hockey, tennis, golf, basketball are all in free TV? Only in decline they get shifted around to cable or even worse PPV. What is in PPV? WWE and MMA. PBF makes a lot of money - more than most if not all in boxing history for fighting. But if you are talking about audience - no. Not even close. Ali and even the 70s and 80s champions commanded more. PBF attract 1-2 million viewers willing to buy. It's his skill level that CAUSES the fights to be unentertaining. Why would someone with his defensive skill level intentionally get hit? Just so that a bunch of people on message boards can say, "wow, that was a great fight!"? He's the highest paid boxer in the world AND he doesn't get hit. Sounds like he's got it pretty well figured out, huh?
Nobody would pay 50 bucks to watch an NBA or NFL. Your comparison is nonsensical. If the Superbowl was 60-70 bucks to watch, the numbers who watch would decline dramatically. If Mayweather fights were on free tv, he'd probably be doing 20-30 million views at minimum. When people buy Pay Per views its usually at someones house where a load of people chip in to watch. So if a Mayweather fight does 1.4 million buys. We could extrapolate and say that its close to 8 million total viewers. Btw I said that Mayweather was ONE of the biggest boxing attractions ever. Not THE biggest.
