Golota was an embarrasment to Poland, especially when it came to the mental side of the game. Adamek is Poland's apology for that half baked psycho.

.................still, i have to give credit to AG (and Michalczewski) for at least getting the ball rolling on polish boxing. That's the big goof's legacy.

Adamek is light years ahead of Golota. I think that he already surpassed Michalczewski and is close to the second Pole: Tony Zale. However its almost impossible for Adamek to reach the best polish fighter ever: Stanley Ketchel.

Adamek will be forever in Golota's "shadow" until he starts sucking badly & uses an opponent's nutsack as a speed bag.

    Adamek has ABSOLUTELY surpassed Golota.

He did that before he ever jumped to cruiserweight and what he's done since then seals the deal.

Golota is still trying to get out from under the shadow of being a quitter.

In my eyes (and many others) Golota came out of retirement and beat both Byrd and Ruiz for the HW championship of the world. And this was a 36 year old shell of the prime version of Golota with an injured left arm.

    Sadly he didnt get credit.

But yes, Adamek passed Golota up a long time ago. Physically, Golota was superior to Adamek in every way. Mentally Golota is a midget compared to the head strong Adamek. Adamek is a true warrior and Golota was a mental case.

Nah, he already did that a long time ago. That was his main mission apon returning to boxing after his retirement post Tyson quit job. He never officially won any big fights but he proved he was no longer a quiter. Give respect to him for that.

I completely agree with everything you said!

    :good

Unfortunately for Golota, he was at his best when the division was extremely good (perhaps the second best era to the Golden Era of the early 70s).

If Golota of 1996 was around today, he'd be undisputed.

    Yes he has.

But he aint beating the Klitschos. No way. As Rums said, he's not a true HW. That's all I kept thinking while watching him tonight against moobs (Areola).

Although he has a very good chance at beating David Haye.

    Yep!

    Lennox Lewis
    Holyfield
    Bowe
    Tyson
    Tua
    Ibeabuci
    Byrd
    Rahman
    Ray Mercer

Back then Golota was the lone eastern euro mixing it up with an extremely impressive division. Before the big eastern euro take over and the Klitschos, there was Golota. :hat

Whats with these two names? We're discussing world class boxing here, not the regional Communist Circuit.

Antoni Zaleski and Stanislaw Kiecal. They fought in hard times, both are ATG boxers.

Depends how you look at it. In terms of accomplishments yes, he held important belts at LHW, CW, defended them, was ring champion and so far has a great run at HW. In terms of popularity not even close. Also depends how you look at Bowe's fights and how you rate Bowe. Me personally, I rate Riddick Bowe very high on par with Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield and I take those fights as wins for Golota. Adamek hasnt faced anyone half as good as Riddick Bowe.
