Winning fights, unifying belts, but yeah his stock drops, that makes sense. When somebody loses, thats when their stock drops not when somebody beats another World Champion pretty comfortably.

    hahaha hilarious!

Just became unified champ with 4 belts in his 21st fight and you are asking if his stock has dropped. WTF planet are we living on.

AJ's Stamina and Chin has question marks. He has been too circumspect in his last 2 fights since the WLAD fight and it shows he is concerned over being gassed out or his chin exposed. If Wilder lands it could be game over.

Parker, for a guy who talked about exposing his opponents chin and knocking him out, did jack in the fight. No inside game, no Tyson style rushing in throwing caution to the wind.

For me it went up even higher:

    + for Jab.
    + for Stamina.
    + for Footspeed.
    + for Distance control.

His resume got a whole lot better.

But whenever people go back and watch the fight for the rest of time, they will see a razor close fight.

In being the #1 ranked guy who is billed as boxing's biggest superstar, fighting to a draw with the #2 to #4 fighter in the division will lead to a drop in stock of sorts in the minds of many. Depending on the circumstances, way they saw the fight, resumes until that point, etc, they might be correct to feel that way.

Showed a respectable jab in the late rounds. Couldn't use it early though.

Stamina, no question, big plus. Parker gassed and going in I thought for sure Joshua would.

    Footspeed though? A big minus.

Distance control? First 6 rounds; a gigantic huge minus.

Boxing is that most bizarre of a sport, in the manner that even to educated fans who would deny otherwise - KO’s seem to matter more than anything else.

Example: Joshua UD’s a solid, undefeated prime world champ in Parker and people say either a: Joshua’s stock has dropped cos he went 12 and boxed to a careful game plan(?!) OR b: Parker isn’t what we thought he was. Much the same applies to the Takam fight also.

    Whereas Wilder:

Was being seriously outboxed and outmanoeuvred by Ortiz (despite what the dodgy cards said), but rallied (bravely) to KO him, and all is forgotten and his stock rises along with Ortiz’s. Szpilka was out boxing him at will (again, against the grain of the judging) and befuddling him, making him slip and fall etc, but he waits him out and obliterates him with a right hand and all of a sudden all is once again forgotten. Same with Washington, though to a smaller degree as it lasted less time.

Look - I KNOW KO’s render everything that went before obsolete as far as the result goes - and that makes wilder a legit threat to anyone, rightly so - but I am perplexed as to how that erases the evidence on show that would’ve dropped the stock overwhelmingly had he KO not come.
And then when someone sticks to a gameplan and strategy and barely loses a moment in the ring, their stock drops - see Joshua, Fury, Klitschko.

I love KO’s and aren’t trying to take away from Wilder - but I don’t understand the criticism of fighters for their ability to execute and not rely solely on their get out of jail free card.

    Just food for thought.

AJ didn't look too good in his last 2 outings. AJ was tiring really badly and Takam was starting to light him up until the ref decided to call the fight for no apparent reason.

When Parker was moving god damn AJ had no answer. He couldnt even attempt to let his hands go. He was swinging at air about 75 times missing with uppercuts all night long, every time.

Well i guess he would've had to get chinned knocked down & maybe almost out then get up to get a late knock out or get in a war to keep his stock up

Instead he controlled the distance with his jab in a tactical battle vs a slippery hard to hit mostly unwilling to engage but dangerous HW now his stock is down smh

soon tell with his ticket sales next time up and his ppv numbers
    persoanlly i doubt it
joshua has a lot of casual boxing fans follow him who would not have a clue who say lomachenko /uysk etc etc are.

his stock will go down when he loses as happens to all fighters the aura goes a bit.

i talk boxing on my market stall with a lot of people but they only know a few fighters and have no depth of knowledge whatsoever /
bar a few mates but then they are actualy boxing trainers.

Not really. Now holds 4 belts. Got the best resume out there.

Joseph Parker’s stock rocketed though. Won’t be long before he’s back in the big time.

At 242 lbs Joshua were very light on his feet going backwards everytime Parker tried to switch on attacking mode.

Edit: What fight did you watch last night? Joshua controlled Parker at HIS distance for almost the entire fight.

Lots of Joshua’s marketability depends on KOs. He and Hearn know this.

I thought Joshua sounded defensive and frustrated about his performance after the fight.

For his casual fans, any fight he doesn’t get a KO will impact his stock.

Nothing has changed regarding his stock. Still guna pack out a huge venue if his next fight is in the UK. Still unbeaten, even more belts now, he has shown he has limitations and flaws in all 3 of his big 3 tests, Wlad, Takkam, Parker but he is still standing and still world champion.

I get what your saying but man even Tyson didn’t KO everybody he faced and he still was wildly popular
