Let's be honest, Usyk hasn't looked that great at Heavyweight, bit slow and no power. But he looked sublime at cruiser. I reckon if Usyk looked amazing at HW, Team AJ would not have took this mando and dropped the belt
That's why he didn't blow out the Witherspoon and Chisora bums. You seen usyk play with Joyce? He's fine with the heavies... This will be wobble wobble AJ after 7
He had to fight him, the WBO ordered it, he took the fight after Fury pulled out of his figt to meet AJ.
You call Chisora as a bum? Yeah, he never was champion but most likely he does have more $ than Usyk and Loma together today. Remember ( boxing fans does have very short memory and are lazy as hell ): Fury went full 12 rounds vs Chisora in their first fight. Whyte get interesting decision in their first fight and had been looser vs Chisora on 2 judges scorecards before he landed on Chisora in their 2 nd fight. For sure Chisora was so bummy: he earlier had British and Commonwealth titles. It is nothing for sure : World Champ or bum , no other options here? U normally will call guy who had such titles as a bum just cos he is maybe between top 10 and top 20? World champ or bum, 0 other options here. ' If Chisora is so bummy, why Parker who is larger and younger than Usyk had struggled with him even more than Usyk? By logic should had been otherwise.
Really? At least have some conviction, do you really think a Whyte rematch would absolve Joshua of cherry picking in your eyes?
It's definitely a good challenge for AJ. On paper he should win, but there are only a few guys I'd say are more of a threat to him than Usyk right now who aren't Fury/Wilder.
Excuses, Usyk is a former undisputed cruiserweight champion and handled Chisora significantly easier than both Whyte and Parker. This is no cherrypick
Of sorts... AJ tends to time his fights pretty well - opponents have often declined more than their reputations have, and I think Usyk is no different (this doesn't mean they're not difficult fights, just not as difficult as they would've been in their primes). That doesn't mean Usyk isn't still potentially dangerous, but he's still got a significant reputation intact despite not having been in a fight he was in any danger of losing for about 3.5 years, not having looked sensational against gatekeeper Chisora and having a style more susceptible to declining sooner than fighters who rely on pace and stamina less... Of course, when AJ wins (I have this 70/30 for AJ) there will be all kinds of cries of how this was a cherrypick and how prime Usyk would've won - and both of those statements would probably be true, it's just not convenient for people to acknowledge them yet. Don't make the mistake of thinking Usyk doesn't know all of this... He's fully aware that he moved up late, but I suspect this is the fight he moved up for, having been the best at CW and with no mega money fights available, it makes personal financial sense to cash out at heavy against a massive cashcow, even if you have a 50/50 chance of winning at best.
I was addressing the OP and saying that Usyk didn't blow out those bums. If he'd have blown them out then he wouldn't have got the fight. Like PAC did Vs cotto
