Has Andre Ward got a better resume at 168 than Calzaghe already?

Once he beats Dawson(and I believe he will pretty easily), I'd be willing to call it in Ward's favor. Right now, I'd say his superior quality wins and dominance aren't quite enough as it stands to trump Calzaghe's longevity.

Everyone talking about Dawson like Ward already has him on his resume. The fact they are putting imaginary wins on his resume says it all.

For all we know Dawson beats Ward or does not react well to the weight loss and the fight is a farce.

if he beats Dawson, then yes he has better depth.

tbh its a dullward question. most long term champions have better depth of resume than Joe Calzaghe. Joe never opted for depth, he went for length with minimum risk.

Ward is cut from different cloth, fights anyone, and will probably pick up a loss or two at some point because ofit.

Bernard Hopkins certainly doesn't have more depth from his bouts during his middleweight title reighn that's for sure. Calzaghe beat, Reid, Eubank, Lacy, Kessler who really stand out.

Who the **** did Hopkins Hopkins beat?

they might stand out for you, but you arent everyone.

Reid and Kessler were top hungry opponents though, I agree with that, well done Joe for facing them, he went against the usual grain of his choice of opponents in the Veits and Manfredz there. Pretty much everyone knows that Lacy cant even beat shot2**** RJJ, and Eubank was semi-retired, weightdrained and took the fight for the paycheck alone.

To b fair to Joe Calzaghe, its unfair to compare someone who only really ever held the minor SMW WBO title(which were both only just gaining credence when Joe won it) for any length of time with someone who is close to unifying all the main titles and really looks capable of keeping them all for as long as he likes. Of course Andre will have a better resume given time, its the only natural progression.

Thats not the be all and end all though, in this day and age Sven 'The Con-Artist' Ottke held two main titles in Germany for years by clearly paying the refs to get decisions. His resume is **** because of his cheating.
