it's not hate... nobody is hating on his talent. . . just his unwillingness to keep fighting the best. . . i do know he injured his hand, but he's swerving good fights left and right! bute. . his mandatory dirrell. . . he should have fought bute. . he deserved a good 2-3 month rest after beating froch to recover. . and then he could have fought bute in june/july. . lol he could have even got the fight in oakland!
I respect ward. I don't mind him taking a break or not dancing to someone elses tune. I don't even mind him telling Bute to fight an elite guy before they fight. However, I didn't like him coming out and trying to distance himself from those comments once bute basically went out and did exactly what he said he wanted to see him do. That whole "I was disapointed that...." bull**** was f#%&ing lame. What's worse is that you have to believe there's a motive for him doing that. I don't think he wants a piece of Bute and the more he changes his story on that fight the less I think its going to come off. I honestly think he's waiting a round so long because he wants to see who wins that Dawson Hopkins fight. I think he wants to move up to LH but if hopkins wins and is interested in continuing to holding the title then there is very few options for him because they've both said they'd never fight eachother. If chad wins howevr expect that fight to happen.
I made a thread about Ward-Dawson on HBO, last week. If Ward goes for the WBC LHW belt, does he automatically vacate the WBA/WBC SMW titles? Or does he get to keep them IF he were to lose to Dawson? He went on a Tweeting spree a couple weeks ago, said he'd wait around for the winner of Froch-Bute to "give the fans the fight they want".
This...He's a ***** searching for every explanation possible he can find to justify him not fighting the best.
Most of the time he'll get like a two-week leeway if the wins the belt at 175 to make a choice. . . He can either vacate, ad keep the 175 belt, or vacate the 175 belt, and stay at 168. That's what happened with Martinez when he was 154 pound WBC champ, and won the 160 WBC belt off Pavlik. Then Marco Huck got the same option when he went up to HW, but he lost to Povetkin, so he still had his cruiserweight strap, and iddn't have a decision to make.
Very few people hate on Ward, even though the TS is one of them. It's just that he does not seem to be able to find an opponent, and he gets some stick for it. Not very strange, IMO.
Surely the hand wasn't that bad that he'd need this time to recover? His inactivity is a bit disappointing.
Cool. What do you think he'd do with the LHW belt? I think he'd stay up there for the P4P value. Kessler is also now up there if you consider the fight with Green, and Pascal/Cloud are potential HBO sellers at the weight. He's always had a bit of a superiority complex over Bute's career, so might as well have him come up to chase him. Which, naturally, Bute will do over the next year or so... his body will suffer a lot less during camps. Hershman probably thinks of Ward-Dawson, should Chad clearly beat BHop, as a potential PPV try-out or at a minimum, a solid WCB Saturday night.
I don't hate Ward. I'll hate him only if he doesn't fight Bute. Boxing needs number 1 facing number 2 to establih who is the champ.
Exactly. Add pampered, sneaky, arrogant, cowardly, and a liar. Son of God? "God hates a lying tongue" - proverbs No, he's the Son of GOAT: http://www.milesteves.com/gallery/d/371-2/Goat-Demon-1-72.jpg
