Ward has cleaned out the 168 division courtesy of the super 6. Nothing left to prove their really. He will let his friends the Direll's pick up the 168 belts. Froch will beat Lucian Bute. Agreeing to the fight in the UK while commendable on his part will assist in his defeat.

 

Ward refused to fight the #1 168 lbs. fighter Bute. Ward refused to allow Bute to fight in his tournament. Ward was the only boxer who did not have to travel. Ward was supposed to fight Bute on Showtime, but it appears that Ward not only lied, backed out, but he appears to have forbid Showtime to show Bute fight Froch! However, the Showtime boycott was ruined by EPIX!!! Ward is so angry, but he has no control over EPIX! EPIX destroyed HBO and Showtime's boycott of the Klitschkos and so many good Euro fighters, instead showing much less talented fighters fight winos from the alley!

I find that too hypothetical, not only because his promoter conveniently forgets about the Bute/Froch loser which probably will get a still higher WBC position:

Andre Ward expressed his feelings with respect to the mandatory challenger: it is obvious he would like to find a way not to meet him in the ring. That does not mean he assuredly won't face Anthony Dirrell if he won't find such a way: I remind here that Ward said something about his mission to get them [i.e. the major belts] all, vacating his WBC belt would be inconsistent with his declared goal.

Why "two-step"?! At IBF he is already #1 contender, and if Bute beats Froch, Adonis should be the next mandatory. For winning the belt (either vacated or kept) he should face just one fighter.
