Has any commentator ever embarrassed themselves like Foreman did with Tito/Hopkins?

I don't know about scorecards, but in one of those HBO podcasts Lederman says De La Hoya "could sell ice in the summer".....

Mills lane's short journey into commentating was a disaster.

Bobby Czyz was a little over zealous about comebacking Mike Tyson

George Foreman getting on the ring apron to stop the Holy Bowe 3 fight before Holy dropped Bowe and almost stopped him.

    Some great commentating moments.

He's always saying stuff like Mayweather left jab to the body is like a syringe sucking the fight out of you and describes how the fighters are really taking the fight.

Better than Kellerman or Lampley throwing bland statistics at you.

I liked George as well. He often sounded so off base, because he was a fighter and could appreciate shots that didnt look all that meaningful but really were and might have been difficult to throw or land in a particular situation. He got a little crazy at times, but he was really good.

John Madden is also out there in left field with his remarks too..... Madden: "When Brett Favre puts his contact lenses in, he see's better." WTF? Or, again, Madden: "When Jerome Bettis runs with the football, he moves faster." WTF??

Actually, I think I remember this one.

Lampley had been bemoaning Tua's performance for a while and had started to talk up Tyson. He was going on about 'Tyson will be more rambunctious, right George? George? More rambunctious?' and so on.

There's that massive pause like you say, before:

Foreman - "...this is Lennox Lewis's night."
    Lampley - "Yes, but..."
Foreman - "This is Lennox Lewis's NIGHT." (said with a touch of the 'old George' venom)

And it goes on from there, Foreman explains but I don't remember the lines.
Basically that Lampley should be giving more credit to Lewis in winning than bad-mouthing Tua in losing.

Particularly because, unofficially and just between them of course, both Lampley and Merchant had backed Tua to win while Foreman had backed Lewis.

Foreman got in a few more crowing verbal digs in the last rounds too. "You guys were picking him to win so you gotta give up a lotta stuff" and so on.

I think it's actually one of George's better moments. He put his foot down and didn't let Lampley get away with flip-flopping.

Jim Lampley did!!! In the Hammed vs Barrera fight Jim Lampley said some disrespectfull/belittled stuff about Hammed's religion and George Foreman checked Lampley!!

    That was very embarrassing!!!

The HBO guys were totally biased when Taylor and Chavez fought.
Ok first of all i did have Taylor ahead by about 3 or 4 rounds but Chavez was obviously delivering some punishment too and you wouldnt hear The team sayingmuch when he landing shots, but every time Taylor did they would Praise him like cheerleaders. Eventually Chavez ended up becoming a HBO favorite but at the time they seemed bias.

    Cotto vs Margarito

I believe Lampley was a little over the top in that fight for Miguel.
