Has any fighter gained such notoriety in such a short space of time ?

Up until Friday, Chisora was basically an unknown. The majority of Brits had never heard of him, casual sports fans maybe barely heard of him, and only the hardcore fans knew of him and knew he could be mildly eccentric and a bit of a 'bad boy'.

By Sunday morning, he's achieved the kind of Mad Dog persona that it took Mike Tyson over a decade of fame and mayhem to perfect !
Also, he's managed to gain a bit of credit for being a better boxer than previously thought.

    He's a phenomenon.
In 48 hours he went from obscure boxer to one of the maddest loose cannons in the history of sport.
He's like something out of a cartoon.

The only problem is that it isn't by design. It's basically because he has psychological issues and they have manifested over the last few days.

Tyson was quite cunning and planning with his soundbites and behaviour. There is a reason why stuck around so long making so much money. Chisora will be lucky if he gets sanctioned to fight again.

You should have said 'unwarranted notoriety'.

He's a side show, nothing else. B level fighter at most. I have no doubt that he's well aware that all this dramatic **** is what gets him big fights.

If he's B level and Vitali is world class (and so is helenius suppsoedly before the fight), then how come he cant be put away...he even won the last round...

what he lacks in skills (he does lack) he makes up for in heart and will to win.....basically the exact opposite of Haye

    I agree with this.
Chisora is naturally a complete twat. There's no planning involved. But he's like an animal, if he gets rewarded for his behaviour ... fame, big fight talk, etc. ... he will naturally tend towards that behaviour.

I'm sure his descent back in to obscurity will be as rapid as his rise from it.

I don't know if he will get banned or not. I think probably not. Maybe a short ban.
Maybe some promoters and fighters will steer clear of him. But I won't be surprised if he doesn't land himself some sort of big fight again.

b level that an ATG couldnt even hurt?

b level that future ATG Helenius (according to those on here pre-fight) got smashed around by for 12 rounds then robbed

    his skills are B level

his determination and heart are A*

Vitali did not put in an ATG performance. He fought without his left arm and is well past his prime. Helenius supposedly had an injured arm as well, and he liked like microwaved **** against Chisora and clearly lost the fight. Helenius has been exposed and is clearly nowhere near world class, sort of an Abe Simon of our times.

Chisora isn't anything special, but he's confident as **** and fights hard.

    I think Tyson was/is a genuine psycho.

Everyone has traits of psychosis in them. If someone ran over your child,or killed a family member how would you react? I'd go all Los Zetas over their asses.

Psychosis is a innate part of our personalities. However, some people have 'over active' psychosis (if such a term can apply) which manifests in much of their natural behavioural makeup; ala Chisora.

At least Tyson sounds intelligent when he speaks, has an extensive vocabulary and some semblence of sanity these days. Chisora looks like one of those Mugabe thugs that goes around killing children with machetes in Zimbabwe.

Infact, I'd wager that is the sort of thing he would have excelled in back in Zimbabwe if he didn't find asylum in the UK.

I don't think being able to speak intelligently means anything. Don't they say genius is close to madness? Tyson seems like a nutcase to me.

Although I think he's crazy, nothing Chisora has done has been as crazy as the **** Tyson did.

Yeah, Tyson was genuinely out of control as well, in the last few years anyway.
BUT he did plan A LOT of the stuff he said, he cultivated the mad man image. "I'm gonna eat his children" and all that stuff. Genuinely crazy, but he played on it a lot.

Chisora seems even more unpredictable. The slap and the thing with Wladimir, he doesn't even seem to know what he's doing.

Tyson actually seemed to be very sensitive to the fact that people were scared of him or calling him bad, or mad.
Chisora seems to walk around in a deluded bubble. He probably still thinks everyone thinks it's all a bit of fun !

Chisora has the swagger but not the talent to back it up. Not comparable to Tyson....unless ofcourse it's Fury

Lol at people making excuses for Tyson but not for Chisora. I'm not calling Chisora a saint at all, but lets stop with the bull**** bias.

It might have something to do with the fact that Mike Tyson was a infinitely better boxer.
