in recent times turned and whined to the referee as much as Lomachenko did during the fight with Rigondeaux? I can't recall anyone whining as much as THAT

If you can find me a fighter that held as much as Rigo did then I'm sure we can find you a fighter that complained as much as Loma did.

I'm not a fan of it but it's a veteran move and it worked.

Other fighers have held for sure. That is true. But not all of them whine and complain as animated as Lomachenko did. None. None as often and as animated as he did. He also kept hitting many times on the break and behind the head. He really knows how to throw his opponents off of their focus with techniques that don't involve actually being punched.

There are tons. Of course if every time you enter a clinch you start to spasm like an epileptic it will look like your opponent is holding you more than he actually is.

It's the proper thing to do. Loma pointed out to the ref that his opponent was cheating and breaking the rules. Which clinching is. And the ref enforce the rules.

It's designed to ruin his opponents focus/concentration. It's done for mental reasons. So yes it worked.

It's just funny how Lomachenko whines incessantly over being held but then went right to hitting behind the head and on the break after lol. Rigondeaux took the mental mind games **** like a man though he didn't whine or try to get back with putting up a fuss like Lomachenko kept doing he didn't show emotions

I was just putting up a point that it says something about Lomachenko as a person that no other fighter that I can recall I have ever seen turn to the referee and whine as repeatedly and as animated as he did that often

whether he wins or loses isn't the problem he is obviously good. It just says something about him as a person and his character that no other fighter has ever been that animated in turning to the referee in that way. None.
