nice to gets some insight on some good euro fighters that you cant normally hear about in america and get under appreciated
Truthfully...I have seen very little, and even then I have never tuned in to specifically see one of his fights.
Ottke is garbage. He can box, but he is nothing special and wasn't a deserving champion. Ottke is the biggest fraud to grace boxing.
So now Johnson also got screwed vs Ottke, despite being clearly outboxed like Mitchell was? :roflatsch
same as calzaghe overprotected for years. Weird though he did have disgraceful home cooking(the worst iv ever seen including robin reid being told by the ref to stop landing punches or hel take a point off!!!, he was good boxing and had some really good wins without much help feom the judges
DM would of stopped him. ottke wouldn't of won that fight at all. calzaghe destroys him. he's not as bad as some people make out, but he's not a great fighter by a long stretch.
Don't waste your time. Ottke was horrendous to watch. Apart from the time he KO'ed Mundine which was rather comical. Still i would have liked to have seen him face Calzaghe.
Kidd, thanks for making this thread I was thinking about doing a thread like this but you beat me to the punch. For what little I have seen from him on youtube there's just something that intrigues me about him. Hopefully there will be some objective posts in this thread that I can deeply look at. I wish there was much more fights on him more easily available through megaupload, youtube, dailymotion, and anything else. I liked how he looked against AA in sparring.
Yeah, because it´s highly probably that a fighter that was never stopped get stopped by a guy he beat twice in the amateurs and has a style advantage over. :thumbsup
Hes better than he gets credit for, but not quite as good as his record would suggest. He gets a lot of **** forall the breaks he got from judges, but the guy could fight.
I cant stand Ottke.. His career is just a disgrace.. I would have loved to see a prime Kessler or Calzaghe humilate and destroy him..
I've seen a LOT of Ottke. Excellent footwork in his prime, decent punch selection, but very average everywhere else, apart from punch power where he was below average. As he got older his footwork left him, so he resorted to clinching more.
