He was always unhinged, would come out with bizarre rants in the local press against various fighters but not Joe's opponents so no-one noticed. As more of his fighters have done reasonably well he's become more high-profile and as a consequence more attention is paid to what he says. This has culminated in him becoming boxing's answer to Prince Phillip.

But yes, wrong forum. What does this have to do with tits, Euro 2008 or Big Brother?

Those of us in the know realised this was always going to happen.

Joe Calzaghe has a freakish ability for boxing, which would shine through whether his father trains him, or Manny Steward, Buddy McGirt, Billy Graham or the local sad case from the boozer.

Enzo just had a lot of fortune in that the BBC wouldn't know boxing from Adam - they would probably go on record and say that Floyd Mayweather is crap because he never won a WBO belt, if Frank Warren told them to do so.

He doesn't seem able to train fighters according to their strengths, and has them all doing the Joe routine - switching tactics constantly as opposed to working on both strengths and weaknesses suitably.

David Haye summed up Enzo correctly - by referring to an early Tyson opponent who was KTFO in 1, asking Enzo if this guy (whose name escapes me) would have won had the fight gone 12 rounds - which Calzaghe said would have happened to Haye!

He also added that Maccarinelli was a decent fighter, who could go on to become a very good one.

    With a different coach.

His only claim to fame was his son, don't expect much after that.

I think some critiscm is warrented, but to be fair I think Enzo is givin as good as he gets. After all Jack Loew did call his son a 'Slap Happy Welshman'.
And we all know Italians can tend to be emotional from time to time.
Personally I love Enzo, hes says what he thinks, though I dont always agree with him

Whats so good about saying what you think?Especially when its the product of a pretty dumb, egotistical brain. The fact is he doesnt have the intelligence for diplomacy or self editing,so we often have to listen to utter bollocks.

Ive never understood why people are impressed by the- 'I speak my mind','I say what i think',what you see is what you get' etc-brigade.A braindead drunk in a pub can do that too.
Unless youre semi articulate intelligent and say things worth hearing, why not STFU?Dont forget idiots 'speaking their mind'means some poor ******* has to listen.
Being emotional is not the preserve of Italians either, every human has emotions.

    Sorry Stoo,nothing against you,just disagree mate:D :good

Fair enough fella, but I didnt say you had to listen to Enzo, its just I enjoy his rants. As I said I dont always agree with him, and its more of a case of laughing at him, but I find it entertaining none the less.
I consider myself smart enough realise that every human as emotions, I was just pointing out that Italian passion sometimes takes over when common sense should kick in, but I do think his passion should be admired, theres plenty of coaches out there who see it as nothing but a day job.
Nothing against you fella, I was just pointing out my opinion, and not tryna make and arguement for the sake of it :D :good

Sorry, its off topic, but i always think how utterly useless Italy were in the 2 World wars,(apart from changing sides) when people talk about their 'fire & passion'etc as a people. Why not use it when the **** really hits the fan?
