Also, to put Jermell Charlo's weight jump into perspective, he's the 154-lbs champion, jumping up to challenge for the 168-lbs championship. That is a difference of 14 lbs.

Naoya Inoue, who everyone rightly regards as a minimum top 3 pound-for-pound fighter, won his first world title at light flyweight (108 lbs) and is now the unified super bantamweight champion (122 lbs)...also a difference of 14 lbs.

Jermell Charlo is doing in one fight what took Inoue nine years and a hall-of-fame career to do, and people seriously think he's going to enter that fight fit as a fiddle and uncompromised?! Good luck with that bet.

Give Jermell a little more credit. He can make 168 comfortably. Canelo does have the experience over him at that weight class but this isn’t a Loma vs Rigo type situation. Im excited to see what goes down. @shadow111

Inoue's a 5' 4" midget and most of his foes at 118 deemed him too small to beat them. Paul Butler said that Inoue was "tiny" and couldn't believe the amount of power he generated. If Inoue were to fight at 130 or 135 next, he'd be a fat ass with a gut.

Charlo, on the other hand, is a massive dude who was boiling down to 154. Charlo will be bigger than Clenelo on fight night and he will be shredded.

Boiling down that weight is easy when you are a young man in your 20s, but he's been doing it for almost ten years and is now in his 30s. That's not healthy, and Charlo will feel the effects of that stepping up in class of competition and weight of punches. Being naturally bigger than Canelo might be the only thing saving him from a knockout, but he will eat a vicious beating.

I think he's going to be refreshed and possibly faster and harder hitting without the severe weight drain.

But he's food for Clenelo regardless.

Yea he can make the weight, but he's not a 168 pounder. I don't like the fight, I don't like that Canelo chose to fight a 154 pounder over guys like Benevidez who's the Mandatory for the WBC and is in his weight class. I think it's a **** fight, and I have zero interest in it. This is actually the first time I've never tuned in to an ALL ACCESS before.

Canelo paid his dues. This isn’t a Terence Crawford situation where the guy hasn’t fought anyone with a pulse. I would have rather seen the Benavidez fight but if he beats the Mexican monster does it do anything for his resume? Tbh not really. Canelo has to do something absurd to better his resume.

I think beating Benavidez carries more weight than beating A 154 pounder tbh, and thats generally what the talk is about this fight, Canelo dragging up a 154 pounder. I just can't get hyped for it.

Canelo has not fought anyone with a pulse since Bivol. And that was also a cherry pick which went wrong. 2 out of his last 3 fights have been fighters below 168, which is a joke and it will get worse when he fights Mall next.

This has got to be Canelo's most disinteresting fight since he fought Yildirim

So instead of trolling tell everyone how YOU think the fight will play out? Do you think it will be a war? Close decsion?

to be honest the all access for this fight has been boring, neither guy is a heel and as much as I like respectful athletes who carry themselves with class it doesnt make good TV

I dont love the fight either but in all honesty Canelo spent most of his career at 154-160 and he is sort of an inflated 168 pounder. Back in the old days there werent a million weight classes so fighters regularly made big jumps if they wanted to challenge an above champion. I look at Charlo and his shoulders seem just as broad and he looks as tall or taller than Canelo

I didnt like this fight when it was announced and I dont really like it that much as it gets closer which is usually when I start to psyche myself up for a big fight even when it seems like a mismatch. I'd consider myself a Canelo fan and have rooted for him in most of his fights but gotta say Charlo going up and taking this risk won me over. I've never been a Charlo fan but I like that he is going for this type of fight it almost reminds me of Shane Mosley going up two weights to dethrone Oscar De La Hoya another Mexican boxing idol

I do favor Canelo and by stoppage. I just dont think Charlo has enough skill to do it. He got out boxed twice by Harrison and wasnt too hard to hit the first time for Castano. I just think that even if Canelo appears to be on the other side of his prime he still has too much for Charlo. In reality Canelo only really lost to elite guys like floyd and bivol and golovkin the first time in the eyes of most and I just dont think Charlo has the jab, movement, defense, and counter punching that the aforementioned did. If Golovkin could not KO Canelo I dont think Charlo does. I would be happy to be wrong

the only excitement ive really drummed up for this one is Charlo taking on such a massive risk but looking at it from the canelo angle its not exciting. The only reason I havent gone full **** on Canelo for this fight is the idea that maybe benavidez is next. In all honesty he just finally beat Plant but didnt look great in my eyes doing it. I dont think Benavidez has what it takes but Charlo is less credible . If Benavidez or Bivol arent next count me out
