yup... fought at amateur level for 12 years. Didn't fancy the switch to pro because i was warned if i came to work with anymore black eyes they would have to let me go. So i stopped boxing and now coach at my local gym and have got my ref license and ref lots of amateur tournaments at the moment. I know and live 2 minutes away from Ian John Lewis though so i've been trying to get me a job on Friday Fight Night
Havent fought in the ametuers yet. Im 16 and started boxing 2 months ago and like a famous welshman before me said "duw its hard"
But anyways the experience is great man, i made great friends cos im new in town, got 3 great trainers and it keeps me fit and healthy til the weekend comes and i ruin it all by eating pizza, smoking and drinking
Use to box at the Garland, TX Optimist Club, that almost 30 years ago. Was nothing special. I have always worked out since then on heavy bag and speed bag. Still gained a lot of weight though.
i boxed for 4 yrs as an amateure and the same thing the the streets and girls got the best of me looking back i regret it big time now im fat and bad knees. my teamate beat kelly pavlik in the amatuers and another teamate beat tony hanshaw in the amatuers .
Had my amateur debut 2 months ago and won. Now im getting ready for another fight in april/may. My goal is to win golden gloves. Im thinking if i win that i should get the winner of Cotto-Clottey.......:yep
And what exactly have you achieved in a boxing ring? Any real boxing fan would show respect to every professional boxer out there. Regardless of the level that these guys box at, they deserve a whole lot more credit than you give, calling them 'Tomato cans' says a whole lot more about you than it does them.
