Has anyone come up with a plausible reason why they think Canelo can beat Floyd??

Why, with educated pressure of course.

That steady jab will be vital, to unsettle Floyd. Canelo has no qualms about throwing when you are which is one of his biggest strengths; many simply co-sign themselves to the fact Floyd is faster and fall into that rut of retaliating rather than dictating.

The straight right is Canelo's equalizer and may be the punch Floyd is most vulnerable to; De La Hoya landed it a fair few times and Mosley cracked him good. The trajectory of Cotto's was all wrong which is why it continually bounced of Floyd's shoulder.

Against Guerrero there were moments when Floyd positioned himself against the ropes and welcomed fire. He doesn't skip around for 12 rounds straight and is guilty of (if guilty is the right word) fighting in spurts himself, but I get the feeling Canelo's cluster-bomb combo's won't be so easy to escape, and so Floyd will be forced into a fight, not so much of a fast pace, but tactically draining. It's easy to play matador when you know what's coming. Canelo switches up his attack.

Canelo fights in spurts also, but he generally engages you. There is a functionality to his work which his connect percentage reflects.

Versatility and experience are the two aces in Floyd's hand, and they very well may prove decisive, but if the Mexican's confidence doesn't waver Floyd will have to show us a dimension we haven't seen since perhaps 2001 when he bamboozled Diego Corrales.

Mayweather wouldn't stop Hattons brother either. Easy to outbox but to put him down is another thing entirely
