I was watching KOTV, and there was a small feature about a gym opened for American HWs, called the Heavyweight factory. Micheal Moorer and Oliver McCall are helping to assist the guys in there. It was said that Europeans are dominating the HW scene, so the HW factory has been opened to try and make dominant American HWs to take the belts off the Europeans and to America. Shows how serious the Americans are in winning the HW titles, trying to create top HWs. If it works there could be some good times for American HW boxing in the next few years, though I still doubt they will be good enough to operate in the tough European scene, but its good they are trying. Did anyone else watch it?
Didn't watch that show, but I saw something on it. Great idea, but the problem is that they are picking up ex-[insert big man sport] players. The guys are physically gifted, but the muscle memory is just too far behind. It should make for some great middle tier competitors though. If America is serious they need to put boxing on right after Saturday morning cartoons and start grabbing these kids in elementary school.
Yeah, I know about it. But, I don't see it happening. Seth Mitchell has more talent than the guys Moorer is training.
I like Mitchell. Not sure if he could hang with the Klits but other than that, he could do some good things at HW.
