i've been away for a while so i haven't been much up to date with whats been goin on esb. i was wondering does anyone else feel their support for shane has dropped significantly since after the mora fight? he was lucky to get the draw imo but i wasn't a guy screaming robbery because i like shane and i felt it was a decnt way to go out without being humiliated e.g floyd's beat down but then he claimed he was as good as he always was and insisted on fighting on and looking for the top guys and even claiming he could fight into his 40's which is a worrying sign of a piece of delusional boxer thinking shared mainly by RJJ and even more alarmingly Evander Holyfield i understand its hard for boxers to accept their time is done particularly when their careers have often been magnificent but leaving your promoter who you have a presidential (of sorts) role in and going solo to face the no.1/2 boxer in the world at his weight and in his prime is suicide and a ridiculously obvious example of denial and lecacy-erosion seriously shane needs to retire before he turns into a shot has-been whose legacy has been destroyed by his own doing feel free to disagree
I havn't lost respect for him, but he does need to realize that his boxing career is, and should have been over after the Mora bout. I can't blame him at all for taking the Pacquiao bout...he took advantage of Arum's bull**** and landed himself a couple more million.
Oh definitely...he's at the age were serious damage can be taken, after a long career. And in with an offensive monster like Pacquiao...
Dude if Forrest and Cotto couldn't KO this guy how the hell can you say he should retire after Mora? We know this isn't Sugar Shane of 1998 but dam? Is he really any worse than Margarito, Mayorga or even Cotto for that matter. So I don't understand where the retirement thing comes from given Manny's last opponents. Shane is as formidable as any of them and Cotto excluded even more so. Sugar Shane has proved that he's as worthy as any other contender out there so get off Shanes jock and watch Pac hit the canvas win or lose,
You should have respect for him. At his age he's still planning to fight the best even if he might lose, so what's the problem?. He needs the money.
The guy has one of the best resumes of the last 20 years easily. Why would I lose respect for him? Two fights ago he was supposedly going to be a big threat for mayweather (never believed this) and was considered the DEFINITIVE welterweight champ. Top it all off with a money-sucking ex-wife and can you really blame the guy?
Is it the same Mosley that fought either Forrest or Cotto?...even more-so Forrest. Boxers age you know?
I dont get why people say he needs money so lets say he gives his wife half then he is still loaded right?
I think most of Mosley's fans lost respect for him a while back when he was exposed for using steroids. Getting KTFO by Pacquiao is his last hurrah before retiring.
Shane is just doing what everyone else is - trying to make the most money possible. I just wish Boxing had a better system that consistently yields ideal competition (universally respected like a Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, etc.) and fighters still get paid the kind of money they want.
