Has anyone else lost their A side status as quickly as AJ in recent history?

Bradley doesn't have the same allure.

Neither does Fury, which is why he struggles with getting bums on seats even in spite of heavy 24 hour promotional documentaries and appealing to the downtrodden

The principles are the same. Rankings vs Box Office.

And I think youre overrating Furys popularity.

It's not even half as bad now as it will be if he loses vs ruiz again.

If he loses again vs fattyboy, he's done.

And fattyboy is fatty but is actually a very good and dangerous fighter, so AJ better is careful.

Foreman advised AJ not fo fight vs ruiz again right now. His arguments? foreman said that AJ didnt know why he lost to ruiz, hence, he will lose again for the same reason. And that's a very good point.

    We will see...

No it's not the same situation.

AJ and Wilder have famously had a huge fight fall through because Wilder wanted 50/50 and AJ wouldn't give it him.

People defended it because AJ is the A side so deserves more.

Since then AJ has been knocked out, Wilder is still a title holder and still unbeaten. AJ would be crazy to think he'd deserve 50% right now against him.

A more similar situation would have been Golovkin vs Canelo is Canelo would have been knocked out by Khan.

Or Mayweather vs Pacman if Mayweather would have been knocked out by Maidana.

It's about when a fighter who is known as the A Side laughs off a huge fight because the other guy wants 50%. That's diva behaviour in my book. And then when that diva loses in a lesser fight it kinda serves them right for playing diva in the first place.

His big comeback ‘redemption’ fight will generate huge talk and money. If he loses the rematch he could be done because casuals aren’t attracted to fighters who lose. If he wins convincingly he could be back on track.

The manner of his loss was better for him than being outboxed for 12, it can be written off as a complete one off bad night where everything went wrong. His next fight determines which direction his career goes in now

Luf... the principles are the same.

Box Office trumps Rankings and Titles.

The person that brings in the significant portion of the sales will get more of the split.

Everything else youre putting is rather irrelevant.

    Box office rules.

Its why Gatti got more than Mayweather. Its why Pac got more than Bradley.

Its why AJ will get more than Fury and Ruiz.

Methinks Hearn and DAZN "baked the cake" too long, to use an Arum classic.

I don't really understand this rational, there are plenty of big fights in the UK for AJ he made all his money there he can keep earning it there. If he loses to Ruiz again he will just go back to ko'ing onvermatched opponents in front of packed houses full of casuals..

Only reason Ruiz can play the A side is because hes the first Mexican HW champ. Any other HW wouldn't have that pull even with the huge upset.

After Ruiz KO’s AJ again, Joshua will be a flat fee fighter, rightfully so.
