Seriously. The drama. The unification. The 0s. This was a tremendous opportunity for Keith Thurman to shine and he blew it. They were waiting to give Keith the title of Welterweight King on the premise that he seized this amazing chance and pulled off a highlight reel, KOTY candidate. KOs for life, baby, right? Instead, we had Keith literally running to avoid physical confrontation.

Yeah this hasn't been good and now some of the people I talk to are retroactively giving his fight prior to this to Porter lol. It's funny because a lot of the people I talk to don't think Danny Garcia won, but because of the way Thurman fought towards they end they lost a bit of respect for him. This helps the winner of Brook-Spence though since people will probably be calling the winner of that the king of the WW division now since everyone still figures Pacquiao is on his way out even though he hasn't lost recently.

I don't think it dropped one bit, he made Danny look an amateur and schooled his ass from beginning to end, where's the issue?

Keith proved he isn't an exciting fighter, that's all. He is still a solid top 3 WW, just won't be as popular.

It doesn't really drop as majority had him winning. He could have put a strong stamp of being the Man at welter if he would have closed the fight stronger and probably giving himself a chance to be a bigger attraction in the public eyes, but he chose the safe route. Still a win as a win.
Brook spence winner will have an equal claim to the throne.
Hopefully we will have a unification down the track to settle the dust.

Thurman's stock hasn't dropped in my eyes. I love exciting KO artists, but I don't really see why some are complaining about Thurman's style.

Garcia has a very solid chin so we couldn't expect him to get a KO. Thurman actually came out very aggressively (watch Rd 1 again if you wish), but soon realised that he wasn't going to get Garcia out of there. So he decided to outbox him instead, which he did.

He fairly convincingly beat an undefeated guy with a very good resume to partially unify one of boxing's glamour divisions. The last few rounds were a bit ugly but I don't see how his stock could possibly drop following that achievement.

Knock outs are great and all but Garcia has a very good chin so I don't hold a decision win against Thurman. Like KiwiMan said he started the fight with aggressive intent, then just did what he had to do to win when that didn't pay off as well as he may have liked.
