Has anyone ever done more long-term damage to boxing than Wladimir Klitschko?

Jack Johnson was a great fighter, innovative style for his time, but BORING as hell.

I give much credit to anyone who can sit through his fights. His style makes Wladimir Klitschko look like Bobby Chacon in excitement.

Watching him is a cure for insomnia.

.... before ****ing up and getting brutalized. Here's a few pictures to remind you of the brutality....

    And another?

Looks like Wlad got beaten up badly to me. Does the fact it was a TKO and not a KO make any difference? None. He was only TKO'd to prevent him from being killed. The key word you're looking for here is technicality....

The ironic thing is Haye got beat by Carl Thompson in an early fight of his after doing the same thing, but I never saw any Haye fans claiming he was drugged and pretending he should've really won the fight, do you?

Klitschko folded like a straight ***** in that Sanders fight. Pathetic. He has no heart.

And yes, he's terrible for the fight. He killed he heavyweight division. It's the worst that it's ever been.

Wlad crawled on the floor like a ***** against Sanders, scared to get hit. That's even WORSE than bein brutally stopped.

He was scared like a *****.

you are one stupid *****, maybe you should get back to watching football. You dont know anything about boxing.

The U.K media doesnt care about boxing, unless it has a brit fighter involved.

Eg, the only fights on five live involve brit fighters.

    You dumb idiot.

Unless the U.K has a champ in the hw division, it's dead to them.

and that goes for the general population, as well as the media.

I'm from London and some people in the U.K think the world revolves around this island.

    Give me a ****ing break.

I will agree that perhaps the Klitchkos style of boxing is seen as VERY boring to the casual boxing fan

But Wlad doesn't owe them or me or you anything.

And yes the UK media is awful

Though if the Wlad & Vitali were American I'm sure they'd be seen a different light

Like I said, the LINEAR HW title remains VACANT until the #1 and #2 rated HWs fight to determine a new LINEAR champ.

The fact that the #1 and #2 rated HWs are also brothers is IRRELEVANT...

I do think Wlad has done serious damage to the state of heavyweight boxing, yeah. If you look at the recent dominant champions, Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield etc., they all brought a certain amount of pride to the title and raised the prestige. After Wlad/Ibragimov, boxing as a whole suffered in New York and HBO have subsequently dropped the heavyweight division because of Wlad's fights.

There's no doubt that he has hurt boxing in America. Sure, he's helped it in Germany and other countries, but he's a turn off to many boxing fans.

    That's just the absolute truth.

    Yes, I did say that, didn't I?

Of course not. They did fight in boring fights, yes, but they also brought interest to the division. You mention Ali but he pretty much saved boxing and made it what it is. Holmes and Lewis both looked after the division and were good champions.

Wlad has actually pushed people away. These are two facts you should take into consideration: New York has shown less interest in boxing after the Wlad/Ibragimov fight and is only recently open to more events in the city. HBO and Showtime are not interested in the heavyweight division purely because of Wlad.

They are facts you can't ignore. I'm not saying every Lewis fight was like Gatti/Ward I but at least he didn't push a nation away. Wlad has killed any interest in heavyweight boxing and hurt boxing as a whole in America. That's no debatable.
