For the first time I am watched SRL vs hearns in its entirety and i always watched the espn legendary nights for halger vs hearns and it had occured to me that eman trained hearns. Then as i watched both of these fights I noticed that hearns and paul williams share some similarities... the way they move and some other smaller things... then i made the connection to the way eman stew was "salivating" over paul williams during the winky right fight... i mean eman was all over pw's nuts and i never really put two & two together....

i think eman kind of wishes he had a chance to train paul.. because where hearns is weak paul isnt..

    - endurance
    - punch out put

and paul has way less destractions in his life from what it seems.... atleast based off that legendary nights on espn

anyways... how do you think this matchup would work out?

i personally think eman has been awful with most of his recent fighters... except wlad..

Manny would ruin PW. He would ask PW to throw 1000 punches a round.

Maybe back in Steward days as a trainer then i say yes but as of now? Nah. Steward was one of the best trainers. Steward as of right now only does better at heavyweight with Wlad. But now in the lower weight, Steward is not the same best trainer he once was. I mean look like what happen to Andy Lee, Cintron, Taylor the list goes on and on.

Thats cool and all but don't mean he can help Williams as his trainer. Didn't Steward praise Taylor before he train him? Steward was a great trainer in his days to fighters at the lowe weights but now? nah. Steward should stick to heavyweights training Wlad.

Let's get one thing straight before these comparisons go too far: Hearns was well above Paul in terms of ability, and would have beaten him however he wanted at any weight. Their physiques are similar, but their styles are miles apart: Hearns was an elite boxer puncher who used textbook tools, movement and power to get the job done; PW uses his work rate and a much more improvised approach to punching to swarm his opponents. They really aren't that similar.

To be honest, I've never rated Manny that much as a trainer; as you say, apart from Wlad, he doesn't seem to have got that great results. Considering Hearns went into those two fights - the two most important fights of his career - devoid of any knowledge of how to tie someone up or fight on the inside, I'm not sure how well qualified Manny is to teach Paul fight intelligently. In addition, Paul is such a unique and unorthodox athlete that giving him to an "elite trainer" may very well not gel.

On the other hand, Manny would no doubt be more intelligent than the kind of dunces that Paul seems to surround himself with at the moment. If his management team seriously planned for him to try and knock Pavlik out rather than use his skills and try and move, I think Paul definitely would profit from having someone who can put together a sensible game-plan.

I have that fight on dvr.Mosley was there. Did you see when Mosley congrulate Williams? I bet Mosley said "Great win Paul. Don't say anything but this is why i'm scared to fight you. You'll beat me far worse then you beat Wright."

i'm not saying they are one in the same... but chill out dog.

where paul is weak hearns is strong at
and where hearns is weak at hearns is strong

if paul could make it out of the first 4 rounds he would win a decision.... hearns gets tired to easy....

hearns has an eraser but he gets tired fast as ****... but thats not the point.... just listen to what emanuel stewart says about both guys...no need to inflate your opinion of one historical boxer when we have a trainer that is str8 up telling you who trained hearns....

    2nd clip... 2 minutes..

    listen for yourself

I'm not sold on Steward for Williams. I'd rather him use someone who would develop his undoubted offensive arsenal, and I may get ripped for it, but Roach would be ideal.

He wouldn't, though. No disrespect to Paul; he's a great fighter and will (I believe) establish a solid legacy for himself at 154. But Hearns at 147 and 154 really was something else. The way Paul holds his hands really is just a recipe for disaster against someone like Hearns. If he tried to apply any kind of pressure at all, Hearns would just tear him down with right hands.

its easy to say that but im just saying..

itll go one of two ways...

    hearns tko
    or paul ud...

if paul could just stay away from hearns & his right early it could be very realistic

if it aint broke the dont fix it, pw and hearns are similar in there height and reach thats about it.hitman could hit and and pw is a volume puncher.hearns was good boxer with power, imagine veron forest with more power in his punches.(rip forrest) paul is just fine with the trainer he has.
