I'd hate to see Paul turn into a 1-2 clinching machine. He's better than that.

    Nope!

    Consider the following:

"Kelly Pavlik will be competetive with Jermain Taylor for two rounds."

After round one; "You lost that round, but you got him fighting at a pace he's not use to." (What The ****!)

After round six; "you're conditioning is wearing him down. He's ready to go."

Post fight presser; "He came out [ in the 3rd round ] like nuthin ever happened; like nuthin ever happened; that's when I said, well, we gotta problem!" (You mean to tell me that Steward did not know declaring war on KP, and allowing the fight to turn into a jabbing contest, wasn't going to be a problem BEFORE THE FIGHT)

Nope; Paul doesn't need Steward. George Peterson seems like a bit of a nit-wit, and he reminds me of one of those nasty old ghetto sugar daddies buying panties for junior high girls, but PW don't need Steward.

It was necessary! It presents the perfect illustration of Stewards ego. In addition, I assume you're aware that after KP/JT I Steward was all over Pav's nuts trying to train him for the rematch. The man can't even spell loyalty.

I hope Paul lands a 12/5 fight soon. I don't like thinking about what primed out Hearns does to him.

Boxing Scene says Dizinzurik is in talks with Williams for 12/5. Since Dzinzurik is the WBO champ, and PW has the interim title, that fight makes perfect sense.

Well, time I started brushing up on Dzinziruk then. Is he another one of these "European fighters with a few special effects"? Andre Ward made me laugh with that line.

Seems like people have a pretty high opinion of him here.

Dzinziruk is a very good fighter.

But sylewise Williams will overwhelm him.

His style is good for beating Spinks for example.

if paul williams didnt exist nobody would care about dzinziruk

everyone views him as a "tool" to derail paul williams... he's basically a heel or nemesis to paul williams for the people who dont like him... he is the only wild card in the deck of 147-160 that stands in teh way of williams

Like most Americans, I don't know much about the guy. He's a 6 foot southpaw who likes to box off the back foot, good jab that looks fairly stiff, decent right hook, keeps opponent turning mid-ring. That's about all I know. That comes from crappy You tube vids, so who knows.

WWM seems to think that this is a 50/50 fight, which is a little unsettling. I knew the guy's love of Pdub was extreme, but this is really bordering on insane! Hearns was almost certainly the GOAT at 154, and to think someone would be able to "pressurise" him to a decision? Pur-leese. Hearns would be wiping Williams' brains off his gloves in a couple of rounds.
