keep at it turpin you ahve heaps of knowledge even if you jst went in a gym and gave guys afew pointers instead of doing corners
yep.. have one coming up, my first one.. started out just for the exercise, then after 3 weeks went in and joined the boxers. did 2 weeks of sparring, a broken hand, which meant i couldnt spar for 5 weeks. That was followed up by, yet another 2 weeks of sparring and again a broken hand, that took 4 weeks.. then i did another 2 weeks of sparring, and asked the trainers for a fight, they said yes, AND if that wasnt unlucky enough, 3 days prior to the fight, i got a cut while sparring, and couldnt participate.. so right now, im 2 weeks away from my first fight, not feeling that confident, as my preparations have been less then stellar. that combined with, that i have some technical issues, such a closing my eyes and ducking/rolling to low. still have 2 weeks until the fight, so i have i little time to work on the issues or get injured again
thanks,i won. do you have many opponents pull out of fights?a girl at our gym has had a shitload of them cancel.also 7 1/2 hours!! i was bored shitless on the 2 hour drive to london.
thanks, the referee was total garbage though.she kept warning me for slapping, about 5 times without taking a point, whcih i didnt think i was,at one point she had to stop it because she was trapped in a corner.he grabbed onto me i got warned for it. i still enjjoyed it though. have you had your bout yet?i bet you're dying to get in there.
I've had more people back out than I can shake a stick at. To be honest, it's making my enthusiasm wane....rapidly. These next bouts coming up, I think will be the last straw for me if the fall through. I had about 7 bouts lined up in the beginning of October and all but one of them has fallen through. The last one we drove 4 and a half hours only to find out that she backed out. It's getting old.
I'm a ref and often times if it's a kid's first bout I'll give a lot of cautions for slapping without taking a point. For two reasons: 1. because most kids don't understand the rules and hand signals by their 1st fight (coach's fault) 2. Most kids slap a lot until they refine their skills a bit so when they are new I let them get away with a lot more than I let the more experienced kids get away with.
our girls had 2 fight last season.its a shame because shes quite good. that was my 3rd fight and his 7th i think.plus im 20. if i was slapping he's just walk through them though but i was shifting this dude whenever i connected.
