My fight date has been confirmed by paperwork so I'm confident enough to share it with you folks. I will fight again on the 28th of this month, twelve days from now. Next Wednesday I will get the name of my opponent, all that can go wrong now is either of us pulling out due to injury.
Also made weight after training on the gym scale, which is pretty accurate. I was dehydrated because I just had a two hour workout, but it means I'm close enough and I still have 12 days to lose the remaining two pounds or so. The plan is to get at least 100 more rounds (two minutes) of sparring in before the fight.
what weight are you fighting at and do you have to hit this weight. ie is it a championship fight. i ask this because a lot of times i was matched, at say 10st 3lbs and my opponent would come in heavier.do i want the fight ??too bloody right !! anyway good luck rdj
I'm fighting at 10 stone, and it's not a championship match so you are correct the weight isn't set in stone. I had immense trouble making 140 last time so I wanted to get that out of the way quickly.
i remember it well.its one thing losing 10 pounds in training but another keeping your strength. i made 9st 12lbs one time and fought like a twat. i didn't do that again.the weight i mean
If all goes well I'll be having fights regularly from now on though, so I will be staying close to 140.
Got my first fight coming up on friday the 4th in liverpool, we're both weighing 75 kg's. Really excited.
Unfortunately I lost, he was simply better and I had no answer in the 6 minutes available. I landed some punches, but he landed more and I just did not do enough. Video will be posted later.
Think of it this way, if you didn't lose, you wouldn't get better Sorry to hear you lost buddy, but chin up (or down, rather) and Jan 10th!
