Bollox, Joe Cortez is a terrible ref but he was right on this occasion. Mendy was hit when he was on the floor and was knocked out. Simple. End of story.

No i dont feel sorry for him,he stops and looks at the guy down then loads up the shot.No excuse for it at all.He deserves to be disqualified. Its even more stupid than what Abraham did.That was the actions of a desperate and frustrated fighter behind on the cards who felt Dirrel was messing about.Bika scored a legit knock down in round 1 and would most like have finished Mendy off.Good call by the ref and Bika has only himself to blame.

 

On first look it didnt look like he was down. But then on the replay he was on one knee and dropped his hands like Cotto V Margarito. Hard to stop yourself mid flow when that shot is on like that. Fair call though but Joe Cortez should never have allowed it to happen. He is more to blame.

 

Abraham's was far, far worse.

Even if Dirrell did deserve itt for constantly diving around on the floor like an English footballer.

If Mendy had of been fit to continue then he would have been allowed to..otherwise it's a straight DQ everytime.
