I'm not defending those judges who have turned in atrocious scorecards(okay, maybe I am) but maybe what they see is different from what we see. I'm sure the noise the crowd makes influences judges a lot and the truth is these judges might have been taught to judge fights differently. For example, 1 judge might like rate work while another prefers clean punches. Everyone has a bad day at work once in a while, can't we forgive these guys? And yes, maybe these guys are payed off, but they have bills and children as well(not that it is okay to take bribes but it is tempting). Those are my 2 cents.

Judges aren't invited back if they score against "house" fighters. Meaning basically, they're blackballed and out of work.

:verysad. I few it differently, there is just no way if the Judges were asleep that they could even be right with that terrible judging. :fire

Boxers have bills to. Their jobs are much harder than that of a judge. If a boxer won the fight, he should get the credit for it. If there is enough controversy in the scoring of a fight, they should delay the official ruling until an investigation is done. That is the only thing I can not stand about boxing. **** like this makes people start wondering about fights being fixed.

I have judged a pro card before.

It was around the late 1980s or early 1990s in Tennessee. One ref and two judges showed up. The third judge had car trouble or got sick or something.

I was just there to watch, but had attended a lot of local cards to do TV color for local cable (although I was told one card I did with Diamond Jim MacDonald was aired in South Africa for some odd reason), so the guy who headed the commission knew me.

He asked me if I'd be willing to fill in and I said sure. The commish brought over the other two judges and ref and asked me to explain the 10-point must system, which I did in great detail. He asked the other officials and they all gave me a thumbs-up and the commish filled out my license right there (if there was a fee, I guess the promoter must have paid it).

Best I recall, maybe one fight went the distance and it was a shutout. The whole card was basically local undercard fellows against bums, so all the locals could win.

    I enjoyed the experience.

Here's the ****, if it happens on HBO common enough, imagine what goes down in the small halls and venues with untelevised action.

    Has to be EXTREMELY political.

No though I have gotten to sit that close to the ring before during a fight and its a bit weird to be honest. You can't see **** like you can from multiple camera angles at home. So something that someone sees at home clear as day is something a Judge who is watching the fight attentively might miss due to point of view.
