Has anyone here watched the cotto canelo fight with the sound off?

I normally score for punches that affect the other party the most. I think canelo punches have more impact on Cotto than the other way around. It is not a blow out, but canelo did more damage.

LOL am I the only one who would like the ability to watch a fight with the commentators mic's off but the rest of the sound on?

Lets be honest, watching a fight with the sound muted is boring. But being able to hear the crowd / ring sounds without the commenators blabbing away would be great.

As for Canelo vs Cotto, Canelo appeared to outbox Cotto pretty convincingly. Cotto never really landed anything hard or flush on Canelo so it was hard to give him rounds. He boxed well, but Cotto never really seemed like he was trying that hard to win. Not only that but he didn't pay the sanctioning fees and was wearing pink trunks for goodness sake. It's hard to score it for a guy who basically handed over the title to Canelo before the bout and never really took the fight to Canelo. Cotto just pretty much stayed outside, tried to land a grazing punch here and a punch there. If you score it for Cotto, then provide your round by round scores, which rounds you thought Cotto won because there didn't seem to be that many.

Try watching it with the sound all the way up and your eyes closed. A totally different fight all together.

This has been my contention since day one.
Canary missed a whole lot of punches.

Cotto would land some nice combos and not a peep from Lampley.
Canary jabbed Cotto on one occasion Lampley could not constrain himself,"Canelo is backing Cotto up"

On replay he actually missed !!!

It makes a big difference with sound off regardless who you are ...!

I thought it was very competitive but Canelo won for sure, though not by a landslide at all. I guess the question should be if someone of his stature in boxing should be dealing better with this version of Cotto at that weught

I had Cotto winning early with Canelo taking over the second half. Canelo took over the second half of the fight however and I also scored 2 rounds even somewhere in the middle. I had Canelo slightly ahead at the end of the night but given his size advantage it wasn't that impressive of a win.

If you think the commentators aren't influencing you, think again. I'm not saying cotto won I'm saying I think he actually looked like the better fighter p4p despite being old and beat up. The size difference was the reason canelo prevailed because cotto is a solid puncher against people his own size. He should be given credit for his performance against a 10 years younger 15lbs larger star

^^ I totally agreed with you. Cotto beat Canelo in that fight, but Oscar bought those 3 judges at the ringside.
