Over the last few months I have become very interested about the boxers of yesteryear and am looking at getting a few books. Unfortuanately, some of these books are like 30 quid on Amazon, so I have to be selective. So, has anyone read any of the following and, if so, would you recommend buying any? Jimmy Wilde - Fighting was my Business Sam Langford - Boxing's greatest uncrowned champion In the Ring with Bob Fitzsimmons Gene Tunney - The Goldern Boy who licked Jack Dempsey twice Any help would be much appreciated :good
The Langford book is very good. Highly recommended. Haven't read this Tunney book but I read Gene Tunney "Brainiest Champ..." which was good but not totally revealing.
Cheers pal :good The Langford and Wilde books are the 1s I'm most interested in. Both absolute beast punchers
Moyle posts on here occasionally, FYI. The Wilde book sounds good. I'll put it on my list. Been reading too much history lately and not enough boxing.
I cannot recommend Clay Moyle's Langford book highly enough. An absolute must-have for any boxing library.
the Tunney bio is the best Tunney bio of all I think and the three sections on the Greb fights are the best about those fights ever I think. Great book!
