I think it was closer then milman says...Marquez didnt look all that good against John's approach. But he CLEARLY won...If you havent seen it rummy check the "Two Questions About Juan Manuel Marquez" thread.
Marquez won. Clearly, IMHO. The whole thing was an excercise. John was awared the winner by the telecasters, officials, and judges before Juan Manuel's plane even landed in the country. The confetti was set to go off on a timer.
Will check it out momentarily. :good So is that more or less a unanimous consensus amongst fans who saw this? That JMM clearly deserved to win?
Very few argue it for John...and the ones that do have very weak arguments thats are pretty much swept aside as soon as video evidence is provided. Two people I have spoken to who were at the fight saw it for John...but watching a fight at the venue is not always the best way to score it.
I watched the fight in Youtube expecting a Chris John win. I was disappointed. Although I'm Pac fan, I saw it as a win for Marquez. He delivered the most telling blows. IMO, he was robbed in Indonesia.
close fight with john with full intention to ride the hometown decision. Not taking any chances and all he had to do is throw punches and run but to his defense JMM is awful in cut of corners for he is a pure counter puncher.
......hmm, I've heard JMM speak that there were Indonesian fans walking up to him after the fight apologizing......I think even those rooting for John at ringside knew the whole fiasco was a con.
They were both aussies that said this...Needless to say they probably had some affiliation with John's trainer..But I dont know for sure.
You may call me *******ed or anything but I give credit where credit is due. Next topic should be: Who fought better against Juarez? JMM or John? I'll be posting a thread on this.
