I think it is pretty evident.... Honestly I think that Manny wants to fight Floyd, but the excuses keep piling up. First It was he is scared of needles, then blood loss weakens me,then the 50/50 was fine, then it wasn't,we need to build a stadium,Floyd doesn't dictate what date Manny fights,Manny needs to heal etc.,etc....

Now he is still protecting Manny saying,oh we can have 2 fights with Floyd in 2013.. I think this is just his way out of trying to milk Manny for all he can.. Before the Bradley fight, they had posters of Bradley-Pac II.

He admitted to protecting fighters, and Manny is no different.. Once again I used to think Manny was scared but I just think Pac feels indebted to Bob,and does as he says..

Is Manny that indebted he is throwing out the biggest boxing fight ever,or is it a money issue, pride or just being controlled by his promoter..

Has Arum been protecting Manny? Absolutely!

Arum admitted to protecting Chavez from Sergio. Why wouldn't he do the same with Pac

I don't think he's encourging Pacquiao to take on tough oppoents. Marquez and Bradley were misscalculations on their part. However if Pacquiao really wanted to fight Mayweather. Arum would make it happen in a hart beat.

  6. He's protecting his bottom line.

yeah bob is the one who made floyd go on "vacation" rather than fight. bob is the one that made floyd fight a guy 2 divisions smaller than him when he came back from vacation rather than manny. no floyd has no responsibility in his refusal to fight the first 2 years

It's more the fact that Arum doesn't want to work with Mayweather than anything else. I think there's legitimate hatred between the guys. You don't protect your fighter by making him fight all the big names two weight classes out of his natural one.

I don't think Pacquiao cares whether he fights Mayweather or not. To me he seems indifferent. In fact, he seems pretty indifferent about boxing altogether these days.

Mayweather flat out does not want to fight Pacquiao, based on the **** he's pulled in the last 3 years.

Of course he is! That's his cash cow! Why do you think he's been matched up well and at catch weights for the matter? It's nothing wrong with it in a business standpoint. Arum is just cashing in like any other promoter would.

Arum has been protecting Pac from more than just Floyd.

That's why they didn't fight Mosley immediately after he beat Margarito. Or why he fought Barrera again instead of Joan Guzman. Or why they won't fight Cotto at 154 with 10 oz gloves

Of course he has. Manny had no business fighting Clottey, Margarito and Mosley. Those were handpicked and spoonfed after the world was buzzing off his win vs Cotto. Which was at a catchweight. He fought DLH at 147 but couldnt do the same for Cotto? Then when Cotto moves up he wont fight any higher than 147 in a rematch? What a joke. If thats not protecting a fighter to gain an advantage then i dont know what is. Then he fights Marquez 2 years late at a weight that doesnt benefit Marquez whatsoever and loses in many peoples eyes. Then fights a real live threat in Bradley and loses again. He's either too small for 154 or too big to fight Marquez at 142, a more fair fight. Total hypocrisy when it comes to team pacquiao. The stipulations and damaged fighters he faced at the time will hurt his legacy. He should be fighting on Showtime for free not on PPV the way his fights are so boring now.

How is he protecting him?, didn't he sign him against dangerous opponents over and over and over? You consider Cotto, Concheato at 150, Clottey(coming off a brutal fight against Cotto where MANY thought he won), DLH at 147(Pacquiao a HUGE underdog), Hatton, Bradley and Marquez to all be easy targets? :nut

What Arum has been doing is protect his stable and secure the best for his business. In the end he made Pacquiao this popular by bringing him the big fights that Pacquiao EARNED by winning. Surely Arum would want to keep his stable alive and running strong by booking fights for Pacquiao against tough fighters(Clottey, Cotto, Concheato, Bradley) within his stable.

Arum doesn't win fights for his guys, he brings them fights they're supposed to win. Take a look how the Pavlik train crashed indefinitely.

The fact that he demanded OSDT when he never has before already shows that he was hesitant to step in the ring with the Filipino destroyer.

Then Manny agrees to the testing and he still goes on with his take the test bs and whatnot. Mayweather is such a good spinmaster I'm thinking he might be a poster here on ESB.

    Cotto @ 145

I cannot buy into Cotto being drained because Cotto was 146 just one fight prior. That and Cotto was still the much bigger man on fight night.

    Margarito @ 150

The 150 benefited Margarito, who's a career welter and who blew up to 165 on fight night. The belt was BS, and who cares? Pac vacated it.

    Marquez @ 144

Marquez demanded it. Why doesn't anyone give Marquez **** for demanding a catchweight and then coming in the bigger man?
