Arum is a snake and definitely is out to make the most for himself, but he could have done that by Manny and Floyd fighting each other, regardless of weather Manny wins or not. I believe the only time he may have avoided guzman in his days were at bantam, but not during featherweight. He fought marquez who is more of a risk instead of guzman so its hard to believe he didn't took risk during that time. Its at featherweight where he took the most risk during his entire career, that is why he got his first decision loss there to morales so no he wasn't protected then.

After DLH then he became protected.
