I think so lads, Sad but i don't think anyone will fancy fighting him. He's boxed really well here and shown some fine qualities.

Wish him all the best but i think he's going to have to work his way back into positions. Luckily he's with Haymon so maybe things will happen but don't see any fighters going out there way to face him.

He did mention before the fight that defeat could be devastating to his career.

He should fight Molina for the vacant "who the **** wants to fight that guy" Light Middleweight title.

I said exactly the same thing on Twitter last night mate. No belt, no 0, southpaw, and a horrible style to fight (and watch for some people)

Thankfully for him, he's an Al Haymon fighter

He wasn't robbed, but he should feel disappointed about the result. He did more than enough to win the fight, but Alvarez could do no wrong in the judges eyes.

Bad decision, but I've seen worse.

If I was Trout I'd demand a rematch, lets face it, he has the right team around him to secure it, HOWEVER, team Alvarez will claim they walked the fight and point them towards the scores.....and will say he doesn't deserve it.

    Even though he does.

I think he's got the potential to be a marketable fighter, though he could do with a better promoter. If Top Rank or GBP had the opportunity, I think they'd both like to sign him and under their guidance, I think he could become a pretty big attraction. At the moment though, the risk/reward ratio is a bit off-putting for most guys but he's fought two of the biggest names in the sport, so he should have built a good fanbase. He could just do with a better promoter right now, I think. At least he's with Haymon who should guarantee he doesn't get forgotten.

There's no way Canelo goes near Trout again, especially if it's not in Texas.

Wonder what Bernard Hopkins opinion on the fight was..? By the looks of it Trout did enough to win.

Yeah definitely, he's pretty underrated and offers nothing really by beating him and he could easily beat a lot of 154lb fighters.
Ward is the chairman followed by Rigondeaux in the WNHC

've never understood any talk about him being an avoided fighter tbh. He got Cotto in MSG and then Canelo last night!
Both were good fights so he's not stinking the place up.
Also claims how Alvarez is ducking him now are also a hoot.

He's going to have to go back to rebuilding. Might take a move to 160 to get a belt. Sad loss for him.

Like people have said he's with Al Haymon so that bodes well.

Nobody leaves a Haymon baby in the corner. (no Swayze)

Carlos Molina recently beat Cory Spinks for either an IBF eliminator or IBF #1 or #2 ranking spot.

I'd hope to see Molina in with Ishe Smith this year and then Trout could face the winner.

Alternatively, Demetrius Andrade is rumoured to be facing the WBO champ Baysangurov so there's a potential match up versus the winner there.

Finally, I doubt Alvarez will keep the WBA strap so he could fight for the vacant title there maybe?

Lots of options, hopefully he doesn't get sidelined.

No. I think he has entered people's list of favourite fighters. And Showtime loved him.

Hmm. I reckon Lara has the position sewn up at LMW.

You only need to see his post-fight interview to notice that he too is worried about this. He was devestated. Like he'd just been knocked out in one round and that his career was over.

But I think he'll be fine. He has a powerful manager and it's not like the 154 division is loaded with loads of marketable fighters. There are plenty others that are more avoided than him.
