:think Also why are so many convinced Pavlik wins by KO when he couldn't put JT away in their rematch @ 166?
jt IS A LOT younger then Bhop..what the heck does not KOing JT in the RE match have to do with Grandpa Hopkins getting starched? I know one thing ..he hasnt fought a bigger "puncher" since maybe Trini and Trini was not a natural MW anyway
Cause JT came into the rematch with a better plan, better condition, gave it his all & still lost. JT already beat Hopkins twice a few years ago when Hopkins wasn't yet approching Grandfather status.
Possibly Antwun Echols at the time of their first fight. Echols was extremely dangerous at that point, fast, with lights out power, and 20 KO's in 22 wins.
In the middle rounds, which is where KP usually really steps on the gas, he injured both hands. After that he stopped throwing bombs, and settled in for the long hall. That's called an adjustment; something Pavlik isn't suppose to be able to do:hey
Agreed, but remember Larry Merchant? "Wake me up when something happens." This is not going to be that kind of fight. BHop is going to have to work his ass off for a full 3 minutes of every round in order to keep Pavlik off of him. I just can't see Hops being able to do that past the middle rounds. Round 8 and the bombs start landing!
I think Hopkins coming down to 170 might be a bigger deal than Pavlik going up to 170. Since this is a catch weight B-Hop hasn't been this light for a few years....
