Calzaghe and Mayweather defo get the most hate, but lately i feel Calzaghe has the slight edge in this department.

Joe will go down as a great because of the length of time he kept the WBO belt, a belt he was only willing to defend in "Wales" Mayweather has beaten good fighters at different weights in the place where it really matters.
Joe should have been fighting in Vegas years ago, id put it down to bad promoting/Managing. Frank Warren has always looked after his fighters way too much.
So no Calzaghe willl have to beat Dawson & Glen Johnson after Roy Jones if he is to even get mentioned alongside Mayweather.

    vegas is way overated.

dawson v tarver took place in vegas.

there are more people in the local dog & duck on a saturday night than paid to watch the fight.

atlantic city/florida/new york/california you get true boxing fans, vegas is ok for millionaire celebrities, but trade fights do crap there.

Sorry, that isn't going to work.

Joe won The Ring's LHW "title" by beating the guy who just schooled Pavlik. And he did it at an age 4 years after PBF quit to duck Margarito and Williams.

Since PBF moved up to 140, NO respect. He's been a cherrypicking fraud ever since, and punked out rather than face Margarito and Williams, or even Hatton at Hatton's best weight. You want to give him props for beating guys like and old Baldomir or a shot part-timer in ODLH, you won't get any seconding from me.

In 3 of his last five fights, Joe has fought Lacy, Kessler and the now-invincible Hopkins. Where's PBF at? Hiding from Williams and Margarito while at the back end of his prime, that's where. Joe's taking on some of the best competition of his career while OUT of his prime. That's about all you need to know about the relative heart and balls of the two fighters.

I have all the respect in the world for PBF at 130 and 135. After that, it's been a bunch of carefully-choreographed horsesh*t.

    45-0 >>> 39-0.

lets not forget it was an American TV show and SRL chose Manfredo over Calzaghe (I guess he had to really but its not Calzaghes fault the US make **** shows or his fault that americans hype every fighter they can in the hope that just one may be of half decent standing.)

I think both guys were opportunists whose best wins came against faded fighters.

Mayweather's most fights were below 140, and he was at his best below 140.

But I REFUSE to spend another post defending Floyd!!!

Say whatever you want about him. :good

Arum is also the one that refuse to make the fight between Floyd and Zoo,
and it was also Arum who stated that Floyed except the 8 mill to fight marg but refuse to fight cotto and hatton for 7 mill in a 3 fight contract ..

and mayweather has only fought in the U.S, so what does that say about him?

You can't be considered great by only beating fat americans, you have to beat those tough Europeans :D
