Both fights were close, but Canelo did put on an outboxing clinic in the first match, particularly early on in rounds 1-4 and the first 2 minutes of round 5 until GGG landed that shot with Canelo on the ropes. You'd have to be blind not to see that.

There are ebbs and flows to boxing matches. In the first match, GGG turned the tide starting in the last minute of the 5th round, but before that it was an outboxing clinic. And again for the millionth time, you don't judge a boxing match based on facial damage, but GGG's facial damage tells the story that he was beat up in the rematch. Deny it if you want but you know damn well GGG got beaten to a pulp, so bad he couldn't even face the cameras and do a post fight interview.
