Clenelo didn't beat GGG in a slugfest because GGG boxed off the back foot and schooled him. If GGG came forward all night like in the first fight, and Clenelo came forward all night, and Clenelowon the majority of the exchanges, then yes, Clenelo would have beaten him at his own game.

 

Canelo didn't beat GGG at his own game because he didn't beat GGG while GGG was fighting in a come forward style. The game that Canelo beat GGG at was beating GGG in the style that GGG asked him to fight in, and in the style that GGG fought in the first fight and the style that GGG was known to fight in, which was a big punching, come forward, big drama show style.

Canelo beat GGG at GGG's own game in the rematch by fighting in the style that GGG prided himself on fighting, and the style that GGG complained that Canelo didn't fight in the first fight. And GGG reverted to not fighting in his usual style. GGG was hyped as a big punching knockout artist, and after calling for Canelo to fight coming forward, GGG was reduced to a backwards moving light jabber which isn't his style. GGG made the style of come forward fighting his style when he called on Canelo to fight in the rematch. Canelo beat GGG in the rematch in the style that GGG tried to fight Canelo in this first match by coming forward and the style that GGG asked Canelo to fight.

The press had it 42 for GGG,15 A DRAW , AND 2 FOR CANELO IN THEIR 2ND FIGHT. So the many in the press you are referring to must be the 2 that scored it for Canelo right ? In the first fight GGG was so far ahead before the last three rounds, which I had GGG winning 2 out of three of them as well. GGG controlled Canelo with the jab in both fights , but chased him down with the jab in the first one.

 

That's ******ed.Jacobs and Derevyanchenko are better than Brook even if you did dismiss GGG'S wins over Canelo.

Your reading into the so called story of the fight thing.The only thing that matters is who really won the fight.Not what the judges said, Adylide Byrde blew their cover as did Clenbuteral. I still have great respect for Canelo because he twice made it the distance with GGG, even with the help of PEDS, that in it of its self is an amazing feat.
