It's not a myth, it was a close fight that could have gone either way, but with Roger Tilleman on hand Froch was never going to get the nod. Scoring that fight 117 - 111 is ludicrous. Froch/Dirrell was also close and could have gone either way, but at least those score cards gave a truer reflextion of the fight.
I'm going to make it real simple for you Mr. Long paragraphs ..Joe ducked Johnson twice you hear twice . Froch has surpassed his resume deal with it ..He's fighting guys in their prime and doing it back to back ..He's not hiding in Notingham holding his belt hostage ..Just accept it .All Joe has over him is he was unified champ and the title defenses ..But had he defended like Froch is fighting now there would be no 46-0 !:good
It is a myth. Right after the fight there was plenty of polls here on ESB and it was atleast 80% having Kessler, and I doubt 80 % voting were danes. It was a close but clear victory, that regardless of the location was won by Kessler, if we have to group fights by their location now its getting insane. There's the odd robbery here and there we can remember, but lets not get carried away. Kessler won that fight in eyes of the generel boxing fans across the world and not because he was fighting at home. (or the odd judge having a too wide margin).
Hopkins' two schoolings of Jean Pascal put a whole new paint job on Calzaghe's and Froch's resume (remember, Pascal was the best win on Froch's resume until Hopkins-Pascal 1). Froch can still surpass Calzaghe, but he hasn't done it yet. Calzaghe's wins over Eubank, Kessler and Hopkins continue to make Froch's record look pale in comparison.
SMW or LHW, it's the same. Calzaghe has 3 great wins over Hopkins, Kessler and Eubank. Froch hasn't beaten anyone of that calibre. I thought he had, but I recently realised Pascal is a bum. Sorry, but if you get schooled TWICE by a 46-year-old, you're a bum and you must retire.
Come on? Two close fights and Jean Pascal has to retire. There wont be many boxers left with this attitude
atsch Johnson lost a blew his chance with Calzaghe and Froch lost to Kessler atsch SImperial owned again
froch has fought every and anyone. gi ve him mad props for that. his resume is way more impressive and he will continue to build it up.
People fail to realise how mentally tough it is to continually /consecutively test yourself again and again....he was never given a free title like Joe through promotional connections. WBO = ****** boxing organisation....people also forget Eubank was past his prime weight drained and took the fight at 2 weeks notice.....a bit different to fighting Jean Pascal aint it... Didnt Joe also twice pull out of fights with Glenn Johnson.??? I saw crude fighters like Bika/ Robin Reid give Calzaghe Hell.....I give Froch a hell of a shot at beating Calzaghe....he throws straight punches and has excellent range.... would be close...but I fancy Froch to beat Joe.... I also say Calzaghe was a dominant fighter in arguably the weakest division in boxing...I dont even think Froch would have hung around at supermiddle that long if challenges were hard to come by.......Its called integrity!
