Clearly the Kessler fight should have been rematched, however , for what ever reason, Kessler has maneuvered himself back to beating up bums for cash.

I stuck up for him for a while, thinking he had injuries that finished his career, but it's now more than clear what he was really up to and that never involved getting back in there with real fighters who'd more than probably beat him.

The votes suggest to me that the everyone including Americans like someone with integrity rather than someone who hides behind his promoters connections with the WBO and lack of ambition to take on the best on the road.

it's actually you're not educated on the subject. :) trust me, i'm plenty educated on the subject. reading your posts are classic comedy. trying to justify joe's title reign at 168 as great is like......trying to justify joe's title reign at 168 as great. i couldn't come up with any comparisons. it's mind blowing.

    Obviously he has.

Calzaghe's only wins of any real value are Kessler and Lacy (even though Lacy was horribly overhyped and undertalented, it was still a quality win at the time). All he has other than that are a past-prime Eubank coming off two years of semi-retirement following two losses, a win over B class fighter Byron Mitchell, a controversial SD over C class Robin Reid, and then a whole raft of meaningless WBO defences against mediocrities and utter utter bums.

Froch's resume over the past couple of years ****ing shames Calzaghe's decade in the 168 division.

let me help out your logic bailey. john l sullivan lost to corbett, who lost to fitzsimmons, who lost to jeffries, who lost to johnson, who lost to williard, who lost to firpo, who lost to godoy, who lost to louis, who lost charles, who lost to h. johnson, who lost to moore, who lost to ali, who lost to holmes, who lost to holyfield, who lost to ruiz, who lost to jones, who lost to calzaghe.

you see when joe defeated an almost 40 yr old jones, he actually became the greatest heavyweight of all-time as seen from above.

Calzaghes greatest win is vs Hopkins in the US even though he looked to have been outboxed.....but then again didnt Taylor beat Hopkins twice...and e had the balls to give him a rematch...ROFL

I ask Calzaghe fans a question?

Froch faces everyone on Calzaghes resume at that stage of their careers...and Faces Kessler in the City ground Nottingham not Denmark.....I think he beats everyone Joe beats and probably stops one or two more without premature stoppages,

At the end of the day Froch's five opponents since winning his title have been on different level to the first five Calzaghe faced, and three of those fights have been away from home whereas none of Calzaghe's were.

Calzaghe has longevity on his side, but Froch has done as much (if not more) in three years and six fights as Calzaghe did in ten years and nigh on twenty fights.

    Let's see.

    No.

Taylor was not a real 168 pounder and was already obliterated by Pavlik twice.
Abraham was not a real 168 pounder and really wants to go back to 160 now.
Pascal got his ass kicked by an older Hopkins twice.
    Dirrell has proven nothing yet.

Froch got his ass beat by a guy Calzaghe beat years before.

How the heck do you rate Froch's SMW resume better than Calzaghe's?

All Froch has are better known fighters BECAUSE Calzaghe blazed the way for the future SMWs. Most of you guys never even watched SMW until Calzaghe and Lacy fought because it was a predominantly Euro category.

    He doesn't have the longevity.

Even his opponents that you guys rag on had more of a 168 lb career than most guys you see on Froch's resume at 168.

Taylor beat Hopkins when Hopkins couldn't make 160 well anymore as he kept complaining towards the end of his 160 lb run.

Taylor that beat Hopkins was before Pavlik ground his chin into nothingness.

Hopkins went up to 175, the man is still dominating years after Calzaghe fought him.

Bodyframe-wise, Hopkins IS bigger than Calzaghe.
