Calzaghe fought a lot of former world champions and world champions at their respective primes, with the exceptions of Hopkins and Eubank.

But even then, those two old masters still were able to fight at higher weights and be successful.

Then there's Kessler, Lacy, Reid, Sheika, Brewer, Mitchell, Woodhall. Heck, even BIKA makes it harder for elite fighters today to fight him and that fight was years ago when Calzaghe beat him.

Kessler's eyes weren't even well and he still beat Froch.

by the time froch calls it quits he will have forced better fighters in their prime (at that time of their careers) than calzaghe. he will get the nod easily

Cal beats him all day H2H, but Froch already has a better resume for sure.

    No.

Joe established a new lineage when he beat kessler. He also defeated the undefeated jeff lacy. He beaten previous lineal champ in mitchel.

These 3 victories are better than any of froch's imo.

If froch beats ward and then avenges his loss to mikel it'll be close. If he then defeats bute i'd say yes.

Froch's resume is clearly much better but resume isn't everything and head to head Calzaghe's a problem for anyone ever from 160-175lbs, he's just got a very difficult style to beat and overall Calzaghe still ranks higher than Froch due to skills and head to head ability, I also think Calzaghe would absolutely school Froch 10rds to 2 or more. But Froch definetly has bigger balls and a way better resume and if he keeps this up foranother few years he'll surpass Calzaghe on the ATG list too. He's on his way to being the best Brit since Lennox Lewis

Post Of The Year so far!! More excellent work being done on ESB in protest at the horribly moronic and biased behaviour of Bailey and his like-minded gang of ****** brethren.

I think he's tested himself at a higher level, earlier in his career.
