Has Cleverly lost Confidence

I think that may be a bad thing for Bellew as he may come into this fight too emotional which is never a good thing imo.

However, im prediciting a Bellew stoppage as Clevs defence is pretty poor and Bellew whacks at cruiserweight I reckon.

In the first fight Clev got tagged loads and the same punches up at 200lbs may stop him.

 

Cheers for info Dave. I think its terrible a trainer gets only 10% who does much more an important work than a manager, who gets 25%. I see that you cannot get a managers license unless you have another boxing license for at least 3 years (closed shop). I own a sales and marketing business and was looking into prospect of being a boxing manager too, as I would get good deals for fighters, and it seems a closed shop m8.

 

I totally agree with the % for the trainers. I am in a lucky position that I have a good job that allows me flexibility to train my pro fighters without penalty. But if it was your only source of income you would need to take risky fights for your fighters just to help make up your money!!

 

Cleverly and Bellend both damaged goods both fighting for big pay days both no they cant compete at the highest level

 

Cleverly is very clever outside the ring and could easily put on a suit, boxing isn't his only route for money but he has his head screwed on to realise he can make a massive amount of money off one fight whereas boxing is bellew's everything

 

I know what your saying mate but he's got a maths degree he's hardly going to make massive amounts of money he got a 2nd aswell I think correct me if I'm wrong. He has potential to make alot of money enough to set him up for life in whats left of his boxing career then maybe use the degree as another income as he gets older.
I agree with what everyone's saying though I'm not sure how much his hearts in it the way he's not gone looking for a world class trainer to really take him onto the next level was a shock. I thought after kov it would have woke him up to go travelling but he's choose to stay at home to get trained by his mate

Clev coulda done with a few more fights before this one, just to boost his confidence a bit. Still, hope he batters Bellew. I've tried to like him, but I just can't.

 

Being an ex world boxing champ will open many doors in fields like investment banking, people who are good at sports tend to do well in those fields

 

Dead right, I work in IB. There are lots of ex-rugby players etc in IB.

 

Yeah, know in the states a lot of college football players are in IB. Some brought up that he got a 2.2 but he was fighting pretty much full time as well during most of that period from memory so getting a 2.2 in those circumstances is pretty impressive really

Edit: 19 fights and was commonwealth, British and European champion when he graduated, pretty impressive that, doubt he'd have any problem excusing a 2.2 to an IB recruiter

 

Isn't that more to do with the old boys network you tend to get amongst the rugger buggers?

 

he's realised he isnt as good as he thought... of course he's lost confidence

he cant mix it with the elite so he's opted to fight Bellew to make some cash (who's also british level)

btw bellew and clev are really good friends and the whole rivalry is so fake I cant stand to watch it... their acting is horrendous and have completely forced a POOR! fight to make some money...

poor show... i wont be watching

 

I agree with the forced fake acting. It is terrible. I think clev is just uncomfortable doing whereas bellew is a bit more at home.

 

he shoulda stayed at euro level, or levelled at commonwealth and no further, then he'd be ok. world is beyond him.
