Has D Wilder beaten a HW who would... make it into the current British top 5 HW ratings? Many fighters get rated higher when they get known but I dont think Wilder has beaten another HW who at the time of beating them would make it into the current British top 5 HWs? Im sure some would look at a European rating and say something like Duhaupas is rated above Haye but I dont think Duhaupas would beat Haye for example and I would also think that if based in the UK Duhaupas would not be rated above the fighters listed. I do think Duhaupas is a tough HW. In Britain there is not even 40 active HWs but there is alot of talented fighters. How I see the current British top 5 1. Fury 2. Joshua 3. Haye 4. Chisora 5. Whyte I am a fan of Wilder and rate him highly and think he would beat alot of top HWs, but dont think at the time of him beating who he has fought, that that opponent would be in the current British top 5. Discuss
Chisora is awful. It is hilarious how the Brits act like he is some formidable fighter. Whyte is awful as well. What has Haye ever done besides talk and make empty threats?
I dont think Chisora is what he was a few years ago, but he has been unfortunate against a prime Helenius, beaten Williams, pushed Vitali, beaten Scott, Gerber, Johnson. Haye beat Valuev and Ruiz. Still you havent answered the question and seem intent to avoid it and change the subject rather than answer
Vitali beat Chisora 10-2. The Scott fight was a crooked referee and shouldn't have ever happened and was a total joke. The Haye-Valuev fight was a complete farce and even worse than Fury-Klitschko was. Haye made a fool of himself in the Wlad fight after all the talk and threats. Other than Fury who is absolutely boring as hell and Joshua who has been protected and coddled so much so even Wilder has a better resume than him that is all there is. Whyte and Chisora are terrible.
Chisora and Whyte are god-awful. Stiverne is better, as are Duhaupas, Szpilka and Arreola. Not that those victories are anything to shout about.
I dont think any were better at the time of when they were beaten by Wilder. Spilka had been beaten by Jennings, Duhaupas was beaten by Pianeta and Arreola was far removed. Also how much notice had those opponents had? Arreola had not long fought Kassi to a draw. The same Kassi, Hughie Fury was outboxing
I answered it when I said even Wilder has a better resume than Joshua is is perhaps the most babied and coddled fighter in the sport and #2 on that list. I am not praising Wilder by any means he is a fraud as well but he is better than 3 of the guys on that list. Stiverne is easily better than Chisora and Whyte. Haye is a non factor and not even worth discussing with his recent opponents.
Agreed, Wilder's opponents aren't very good. But Chisora's best win is a farcical stoppage of Malik Scott over three years ago. At his peak he was a solid European-level fighter but he's now well past his best. Whyte's entire reputation is built off the back of wobbling an overzealous Joshua with a wild shot in a grudge match. Since then he's taken six rounds to knock out an overweight cruiserweight who was stopped by Tony Bellew, and went ten with two domestic fighters who were given the fights at very short notice. Hughie Fury is also better than both.
One of Wilders best wins is a farcical stoppage over Malik Scott lmao, in fact Scott was put in an eliminator with Wilder after losing to Chisora. Unlike Wilder - Chisora regularly steps in with top fighters. Where as Wilder feasts on European level and shot hasbeens like Arreola who is more or less a journeyman at this point.
I'm not a Wilder fan at all. Just disputing the original claim that none of his opponents would be a top-5 UK heavyweight if they were British. I give Chisora credit for facing the best of his generation, but at this stage of his career he's no better than the likes of Duhaupas, Stiverne or Szpilka. Whyte, too, is at best on the same level as those guys. Think we can all agree though that none of the fighters we've discussed are appropriate opponents for someone claiming to be the heavyweight champion of the world.
