All of the protagonists in the Heavyweight division are manoeuvring themselves toward or have set their next fights except Wilder who’s been totally silent.

At 36 years and 5 months old he is fully entitled to retire but if he’s planning on fighting again then he doesn’t have time on his side and should get a move on!

Personally, I think that Wilder retired, only he hasn't announced it (yet).
And if he intends to fight, he doesn't need another break between fights of 18 months, because time is definitely not on his side.

He has been for soul-replacement therapy. Did not work.

I think even if he had another fight it would only be someone like Martin.
Fury sent his to the Shadowrealm and his ego is too fragile to take another beating of one of the other top dogs.

If he was to fight again then realistically who would be a good rehabilitation opponent ?

With the right champion mentality, he should challenge Oleksandr Usyk. All or nothing. A victory, or a draw, would improve his legacy. Defeat would definitely send him into retirement.
Anthony Joshua is another good candidate for Wilder's return (or Anthony Joshua return).
Opponents of Class B (for rehabilitation) would not add anything to Wilder's career. He had enough of them. It is better to retire than to rehabilitate against an anonymous person.

He's busy writing his debut novel "1001 reasons why i lost to Fury". It'll take him a while as it's longer than War and Peace.

Once he's done with that he'll be back for Ortiz 3.

Wilder has to wake up in the morning and have that spark to be motivated to fight

The dude is a freak, he probably doesn't even need to train. He never did roadwork anyway!

Doesn't really get fat because of his genetics

The right opponent with the right offers $$$ I think he'd jump back into it...but are they available?

I think he'll take a tune-up fight and then probably seek a fight with AJ. That fight will still have some interest even after AJ loses to Usyk again.

    I hope he hasn't.

To be fair he brings a lot to the party, and is capable of beating most heavies, unfortunately for him he decided on taking on Fury for a third time, which is admirable considering how the first two went...

    I hope he continues.
