Has Eddie Hearn surpassed Barry Hearn on the atg promoter rankings

I didn't know there were promoter rankings. Let alone ATG promoter rankings.

Never been a fan of promoters. Interesting concept being a fan of them, but no thanks.

 

Eddie is probably a better boxing promoter than Barry, but Barry built it from the ground up, from working-class roots; it's hard to really compare them. It's much easier to do what Eddie has done when you have the sort of connections to the boxing world that he automatically had access to because of his father, but he took them from a successful British promotional outfit to one of the global leaders with a billion-dollar valuation, and that is commendable, regardless of what you think of Fast Eddie.

 

Out of the two I would argue that Hearn is a better promoter than Hearn.

They promote 3 of the top 10 P4P fighters in the sport - Bivol, Bam, Shakur, and have some solid champions too, like Dalton Smith, Boots & Opetaia. I think they'll be fine once Joshua retires, in all honesty.

 

He's Eddie Hearn's dad, he created the matchroom promotion.

 

Barry Hearn was only a big boxing promoter because of Eubank Sr's success, he didn't do much in boxing aside from promote Eubank, he promoted Herbie Hide for a while too, he was far more successful in snooker, Eddie is just a nepo baby put on the map due to AJ's success.
